About the event

The Mr. Owosso Contest Kick-Off is scheduled for May 7th, at 7pm, at the Knights of Columbus. It won’t be long, and candidates will be busy organizing fundraising events that will elevate them to victory and the title of the 2027 Mr. Owosso. Once the contest is officially kicked off, the fundraising begins.The Contest has been a Curwood Festival tradition since 1980, when Bob Stone was the first to be crowned. Candidates commit 3 weeks of time and energy to raise as much money aspossible for an area nonprofit. Various fundraising events include, dinners, parties, golf outings, concerts, 5K races, car washes, auctions and numerous other creative and fun opportunities to raise money.Candidates and their teams design and proudly wear campaign t-shirts to build spirit, support and generate awareness for their cause. The true spirit of generosity is revealed throughout theentire contest experience.The culmination of the event will be hosted by Sideline Sports Bar at the Curwood Beer Tent on June 5th at 5pm. The Contest Finale has candidates entertaining the crowd with talent and swimsuit contests, as well as a formal interview. Once the final tally has been completed, the 2027 Mr. Owosso will be crowned.If you are looking to make a positive difference for a nonprofit that is dear to your heart, here is your chance and 2027 is your year.Contest organizers are Joe Petersen (1992) and Joe Holden (2010). Terms & Conditions

  • To be an official candidate for the Mr. Owosso contest
  • To attend the candidate "Meet & Greet" - Tuesday, May 4, 2027 @ 7 pm
  • To participate in the "Kick-Off" - Friday, May 7, 2027 @ 7 pm
  • To turn over all donations to the Curwood Festival treasury for tallying and distribution
  • To turn all collections in prior to the finale.  Any monies collected during the Mr. Owosso Contest's "Run for the Money" will be turned in immediately following and counted. NO $$ will be accepted after the Run!
  • To participate in the swimsuit, talent, and formal competition at the contest finale
  • To take part in any and all publicity or photo sessions, having to do with the Mr. Owosso Contest during the festival as well as any appearances that may be requested by the Curwood Festival during my reign as Mr. Owosso if I should win
  • To ensure that all publicity includes the Mr. Owosso logo for authenticity to the public of Mr. Owosso fundraisers.
  • My signature on this applicationi indicates that I am either representing or being sponsored by the above organization and it is my understanding that the above named organization will receive the sponsor's percentage of my collection, according to the terms outlined in the rules and application for the Mr. Owosso contest.
  • I understand that I represent to the public the above organization and Curwood Festival and I will use good and honest judgment during my campaign for Mr. Owosso.
  • WAIVER OF LIABILITY: I hereby understand that neither Curwood Festival, Inc., nor any of its officers, employees or volunteers shall be held liable for any claims seeking damages for personal injury or property damage that may arise out of participation in the Mr. Owosso Contest I hereby agree to indemnify Curwood Festival Inc., its officers, employees, volunteers, and the City of Owosso harmless on account of any such claims.  Therefore, by signing this application I accept full personal injury and property damage responsibility for the welfare of all participants in my campaign while participating in the Mr. Owosso Contest.
