America's 250th Celebration Parade at Freedom Fest

It's a Parade!! Join us for the Thomaston Freedom Fest golf cart and bicycle parade to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary! For a one mile stretch through Silvertown, walk, bike, or ride your way to the festival grounds on July 4, 2026 at 4:00pm.

FREE to participate.

Decorate your entry in red, white, and blue patriotic themes, and go all out! Prizes given to the top three entries.

Line up at City of Refuge Church parking lot by 3:30pm on July 3, 2026. 

The parade is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM Saturday, the 4th of July
Rain delays are possible but cancellations are not probable. All parade participants are requested to be in the CITY OF REFUGE CHURCH parking lot no later than 3:30 pm. You may drop off participants at the entrance to the line-up area. Parade workers will be on hand to give you instructions.

Parade entries include: golf carts, electric bicycles, walkers, skaters, skateboards, bicycles, wagons, strollers, and hand carts.

NO motorized vehicles allowed including dirt bikes, side-by-sides, ATVs, Spiders, mopeds, motorcycles, cars, trucks, tractors, lawn mowers, or farm equipment. 

Parade Rules & Guidelines
-Entries must be decorated in a patriotic, Independence Day, or Freedom Fest theme.
-Drivers of golf carts must possess a valid driver's license.
-Golf carts must be operated safely and responsibly at all times.
-All passengers on golf carts must be seated while the vehicle is in motion.
-Participants may play music and distribute approved candy or giveaways, provided it is done safely.
-No political messages, campaign materials, or advertising are permitted.
-No reckless driving, burnouts, speeding, or unsafe behavior will be tolerated.
-Freedom Fest organizers reserve the right to remove any participant or entry that does not comply with event rules.
-All participants must complete and sign this registration and liability waiver prior to participation.
 
Liability Waiver & Release
In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Freedom Fest Golf Cart & Bicycle Parade, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

I understand that participation in the parade involves inherent risks, including but not limited to bodily injury, property damage, accidents, or other hazards associated with operating or riding on a golf cart, bicycle, or participating in a public event.
I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation for myself and any minors under my supervision.
I agree to release, waive, and discharge the City of Thomaston, Thomaston Main Street, Freedom Fest organizers, sponsors, volunteers, event staff, and affiliated organizations from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising from participation in the event.
I certify that any golf cart entered in the parade is in safe operating condition and that I am legally authorized to operate it.
I grant permission for photographs and video recordings of me and my participants to be used by Freedom Fest, the City of Thomaston, and event partners for promotional and marketing purposes without compensation.
I have read and understand this waiver and voluntarily agree to its terms.
