Anime Weekend Atlanta's Video Art Track and Idol Programming departments are joining forces for the first time ever to bring attendees AWA's own AMIdol Showcase! Idols and AMV Editors will work together for around six months before show to put together a riveting performance merging the strengths of both performers and editors. Participants will have 5 minutes for their set.
Terms & Conditions
Applications for idols and AMV editors are open from April 1st to May 17th. Acceptances will be sent by May 30th, and AMV editors will select an idol to pair with based on setlist in the week after. Idols and editors will have until October 2nd to submit their final A/V. Idols are required to attend in person to perform alongside the A/V, and Editors are welcome to attend but not required. Idols and Editors must be 18+ to participate. *AWA Membership.badge is required for attendance*.
Rules:
Participation: Anyone may enter regardless of experience level. Idols and Editors must be 18+. Editors are encouraged to attend Anime Weekend Atlanta in person.
Deadline: All A/V must be received by the published deadline. This is an “in our hands” deadline. Your video (with the correct accompanying audio) should be completely uploaded by the deadline, October 2nd.
Right of First Exhibition: By submitting a video to this event, you are granting the Video Art Track the right of first exhibition of your submission. Video submissions may not have been presented in any public venue nor published online in any fashion prior to the AMIdol Showcase at Anime Weekend Atlanta.
Content: Editors are strongly encouraged to limit violence, profanity, and adult situations to the standards of an “R” motion picture rating or “Red-Band” trailer. There are limits to what can be exhibited during the AMIdol Showcase.
Disqualification: Entries expressing bigotry, hatred, or involving harassment of any kind are a violation of general convention policy and are not permitted. Bullying, bigotry, and hatred during the peer review process will also not be tolerated and may result in suspension in the chat and/or expulsion from the contest. Entries in excessively poor taste, while not explicitly disqualified, are unlikely to be screened and we may not be able to honor requests for such videos. This contest does not permit the use of AI-generated visual and/or audio sources.
The deadline for auditions is Sunday, May 17th, 2026.
Acceptance, rejection, and waitlist emails will be sent on May 30th.
Accepted acts will be required to join the AWA Discord AND the AWA VAT Discord to keep in contact with the organizers.
