Anime Weekend Atlanta is pleased to open applications for our tenth annual Starlight Idol Festival! Each year we aim for the moon and land among the stars, and this year is no exception. Join us in main events as we put on our biggest and brightest stage yet! All idols, odorites, dancers, singers, and groups are welcome to apply to SIF. While we focus on Japanese idols and media, we will consider every application equally and carefully.
Terms & Conditions
Performers will get around 10 minutes (~2 songs) on stage in our 2 hour event and the opportunity to sell merchandise and meet their fans at a meet & greet after the show, as well as sell merch at a shared booth all weekend long. All performers are REQUIRED to attend a soundcheck from 8am - 12pm on Thursday, November 19th this year. Performers for the Starlight Idol Festival stage must be 18 or older. This performance will have haze, flashing lights, and lasers. Please prioritize your health and take this into consideration when applying.
The Starlight Idol Festival is meant for experienced performers and will be treated professionally. AWA's Comet Stage is for less experienced acts who may not have performed on many or any professional stages - please ensure that you are applying for the festival that best fits your needs, as we will not be moving SIF applicants to Comet Stage.
Performers for the 2026 Starlight Idol Festival will be expected to assist in promotion at the convention prior to the show start. Performers will be asked to hand out (provided) flyers for the show for at least an hour before call time, in costume.
Dates:
SIF - Friday, November 20th, 2026. Call time will be 1 hour before show.
Soundcheck - November 19th, 2026; 8a - 12p. You MUST be present for soundcheck to perform in the Starlight Idol Festival.
*Please note that you and all your group members need a valid AWA Membership to participate. AWA will provide badges for performers and one handler per group. You must purchase all other memberships.*
The deadline for auditions is Sunday, May 17th, 2026.
Acceptance, rejection, and waitlist emails will be sent on May 30th.
Accepted acts will be required to join the AWA Discord to keep in contact with the organizers.
