Contestants will be challenged to eat the famous 72oz steak, baked potato, salad, shrimp cocktail and roll in just 1 hour.

Terms & Conditions

By registering for and/or participating in the Big Texan Steak Eating Contest (“Contest”), participants agree to the following terms and conditions:

Eligibility

• Participants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of the Contest.
• Valid photo identification may be required at check-in.
• A signed waiver must be signed at the time of application submittal
• Participants must be physically able to safely compete and have no medical conditions that would be aggravated by consuming large quantities of food.
• Employees of the Big Texan Steak Ranch, Amarillo Convention and Visitors Bureau, TALL in Tourism Foundation, event sponsors, and their immediate family members may be excluded from participation.

Registration & Check-In

• Participation is first-come, first-served or by pre-registration, as determined by event organizers.
• Participants must check in at the designated time and location. Failure to check in on time may result in forfeiture of the spot.
• Entry fees, if applicable, are non-refundable.

Contest Rules

• Contest rules, including time limits, portion size, and judging criteria, will be announced prior to the start of the Contest.
• Participants must follow all instructions provided by contest officials and judges.
• Any form of cheating, unsportsmanlike conduct, or failure to comply with rules may result in immediate disqualification.
• Judges’ decisions are final.

Health & Safety

• Participants compete at their own risk.
• Medical personnel may be on-site; however, participation does not guarantee medical evaluation or treatment.
• Contest officials reserve the right to disqualify any participant who appears to be in distress or whose continued participation may pose a health risk.

Liability Waiver

• By participating, individuals voluntarily assume all risks associated with the Contest, including but not limited to choking, illness, injury, or other adverse health effects.
• Participants agree to release and hold harmless the Big Texan Steak Ranch, Amarillo Convention and Visitors Bureau, TALL in Tourism Foundation, the City of Amarillo, event sponsors, volunteers, and affiliated parties from any and all claims, liabilities, or damages arising from participation.

Media Release

• By participating, contestants grant permission for their name, image, likeness, voice, and statements to be photographed, recorded, and used for promotional, marketing, and media purposes without compensation.

Prizes

• Prizes, if offered, are non-transferable and may not be substituted or redeemed for cash unless otherwise stated.
  Winners are responsible for any applicable taxes.

Right to Modify or Cancel

• Event organizers reserve the right to modify rules, prize details, scheduling, or to cancel the Contest at any time due to weather, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Agreement

• Participation in the Contest constitutes full understanding and acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
