About the event

Tekko is Pennsylvania's largest anime convention, attracting nearly 12,000 unique and diverse fans from across the country (and world!) to the region. We aren't just any old anime convention, though. We offer so much more by featuring Japanese arcade games, J-rock, J-fashion, Japanese pop culture, and education in our programming. Additionally, we choose a unique theme every year to explore new content, such as wrestling, mecha, sports, and more. This makes us one of the most diverse anime and Japanese culture conventions in the country, and we aren't done expanding yet! Tekko is presented by a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, the Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society (PittJCS) . We've been bringing fans together for more than 20 years at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

About the registration

What is this?
This a wacky race to the finish with all contestants dressed in inflatable dino costumes.
The inspiration for this was from the inflatable dino race that takes place in Japan:

While the main focus is on the dinosaur inflatable costumes, we will also accept inflatable costumes that are similar in size. The costume must cover the contestant's full body or at least 90% of the participant's body.
Some of the other accepted costumes are: Inflatable Unicorn, Inflatable Chicken, Inflatable Shark, Inflatable Among us crew member, and other similar costumes.

How does it work?
Depending on the number of submissions, a certain number of contestants will race at a time where the top contestants will move on to the next bracket. There will be wacky prizes at the end of the race for the top contestants!

Where and when will it be?
The will be a meet-up room TBD for the contestants, but the track will be located on the far left side skybridge (not the one that goes down the middle). The race will take place on Saturday. A time and and changes to the location will be announced, so make sure to follow Tekko on social media and check your email!

Who can participate?
Due to the nature of the race,only those above the age of 16 will be allowed to participate. Anyone between the ages of 16 - 17 must get a guardian's permission and have them with them prior to the race to participate.
Note: Due to the time constraint and for safety purposes, there is a limited number of attendees that can participate.

Terms & Conditions

What are the rules?
All participants will be required to fill out a waiver prior to the race.
Shoving, tripping, cheating, hitting, or any similar unsportsmanlike actions during the race will not be tolerated. Anyone caught doing such actions will be immediately reprimanded.
Be aware that accidents do happen. While we will try to prevent accidents, please be safe while racing.
Be on time to the meetup location. We understand that there is so much to do at Tekko, so we want to make sure that the race starts on-time so everyone can make sure to go to events they want to go to after the race.
The waiver to participate must be signed prior to the start of the race.
Hydrate! Hydration is important, so make sure you drink plenty of water before and after the race.
