Mini Bud Vase in Purple, Gold

These darling little bud vases can be displayed as a single or group several together! This curvy form measures 2 1/4" in height, 2" in width with a depth of 7/8". My signature is on the underside of the vase. A painted wooden pedestal base in "Ultrawhite" is included with each vase for display, if desired. I use a high-fired porcelain clay body, rendering this form very robust. Each vase is slab-constructed and features a textural, patterned surface created by applying several layers of hand-colored porcelain slip over hand-drawn designs in wax resist. It is further enhanced with underglazes to highlight parts of the design with spots of color. The bottom part of the vase is covered with a clear gloss glaze, as is the interior and does hold water. This piece has been fired multiple times in an electric kiln...all of the decoration is permanent.
