This encaustic painting features a winter branching tree with the negative image forming the tree's roots. It is comprised of multiple layers of clear and pigmented wax resulting in a sculptural, multi-dimensional work. A custom blend of beeswax and damar resin adds a translucency to give the artwork a glow and depth.
The overall artwork size is 4" x 12", and it is painted on a cradled birch panel which eliminates the need for framing. The edges of the panel are painted black.
The artwork is signed and dated on the back and is wired and ready for hanging.
Also included is an encaustic care card which tells about the encaustic process, history, and how to care for your new encaustic painting.

Meet your seller
My work draws on the same passions that initially led me to pursue landscape architecture, as both the natural world and manmade structures continue to be focal points for many pieces. The layered nature of encaustic allows me to add vintage objects or even reclaimed wood, physically bringing the natural world into my attempts to capture it.
