Small Dish: Leaf Four

This sweet little dish can be used for a variety of uses: ring dish, condiment dish, vitamin reminder or purely a decorative work of art. It measures 1" in height, 4" in width, with a depth of 3 3/4". My signature is on the underside of the foot and each piece is a complete original! I use a high-fired porcelain clay body, rendering this form very robust. The dish is hand-built using slab construction and features a slightly textural, patterned surface created by applying several layers of hand-colored porcelain slip over hand-drawn designs in wax and shellac resists. It is further enhanced with underglazes to highlight parts of the design with spots of color. The entire dish is covered with a FOOD SAFE, transparent clear gloss glaze. This piece has been fired multiple times in an electric kiln...all of the decoration is permanent.
