To watch these birds speed through the landscape is as entertaining as watching the roadrunner cartoons that many of us grew up with. This is a life size Greater Roadrunner, an amazing bird that can be found in the southwestern hot regions of the U.S.
This etching is hand-made on 5 large copper plates, with a total of 14 different colors of inks. In addition to the Rives BFK rag paper used for the etching, the inks and paints employed to create the etching are of the highest quality. Each etching is hand-printed with overlapping colors, a highly skilled process. Two weeks after the ink dries, several hours of hand-coloring is required to finish the piece. Because of all the hand work involved, no two pieces are exactly the same. The etching has a 2” border of paper around the image with a beautiful, deckled edge. Archivally framed and matted with Museum glass, 8 ply rag mat board and beautiful champagne moulding. This glass protects the art from fading and greatly reduces the reflections. Sealed on the back with a hanging wire ready to hang.
