Description
This bird is one of the most common herons in the U.S., located in every state. You notice how the bird is confronting the viewer, an in-your-face pose.
It is life size and created with 3 large copper plates printed with 9 different inks.
In addition to the Arches rag paper used for the etching, the inks and paints employed to create the etching are of the highest quality. Each etching in the edition requires close to 2 hours of labor just for the printing. Two weeks after the ink dries, another full day of hand-coloring is required to finish the piece. Because of all the hand work involved, no two pieces are exactly the same. The etching has a 2” border of paper around the image with a beautiful, deckled edge.
