I spent 12 years living in the middle of the Ozark National Forest (Arkansas) which has left me with hundreds of wonderful memories floating around in my head just dying to get. “Sunrise Timber Road” is one of them. It is painted entirely by memory and enhanced through the years by my imagination. It doesn’t depict any specific place, but it does convey my love for the Ozarks and the beautiful hardwood forests, deep valleys and clear mountain streams I explored while living there.

Garry McMichael has been a photojournalist, commercial photographer and artist for the past thirty years and is owner of PaintStLouis.org where he organizes and teaches workshops in St. Louis, Missouri. He is actively involved with the Greater St. Louis Art Association, Art St. Louis and is Past-President of the Gateway Pastel Artists Association.
