About the event

Get a glimpse of what it’s like to live downtown! On Saturday, May 2, from 2pm-6pm, Downtown Joplin Alliance invites you to join its 2026 Downtown Lofts Tour, showcasing historic properties available to rent or buy in the downtown area. This "open house-style" tour will take you into some of downtown's most fascinating properties--some units will be fully furnished and occupied, others will still be in process of renovation. Expect to even see a few properties where restoration has not yet begun! The final lineup of buildings will be unveiled as the tour draws closer. Tickets are $25 and will grant entry to all properties on the tour, as well as a commemorative guidebook. Tickets will go on sale in early 2025. Separate tickets are also available for the after hours Tip Top Toast: A Vip Reception Under the Stars! Join us on the roof of the historic Columbian Building at 418 S Main St from 7pm-9pm, for live music, signature cocktails, and small plates. Tickets are $75 each, include a ticket for the daytime tour, and are limited in quantity. This is a rain or shine event--no refunds given. In case of the inclement weather, the Tip Top Toast Reception will move to a suitably awesome indoor location. All proceeds will benefit Downtown Joplin Alliance, a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to the revitalization of our historic downtown district.

About the application

The 2026 Downtown Lofts Tour is happening on May 2, 2026. This open house-style self guided tour will let participants view a variety of living spaces in our downtown district. As a nonprofit, we need volunteers to help us create a pleasant and safe environment for our guests during this fundraiser. Tasks will include greeting; docents (giving directions, answering basics questions, etc...); setting up signage; helping set up the evening rooftop event; helping break down the evening rooftop event; passing out guidebooks; selling merchandise; etc... Please read through the shifts and see which ones you feel comfortable with. Volunteers for the Lofts Tour will receive one free ticket. Please use coupon code LOFTVOL26 to secure your ticket. You may use it yourself during your non-volunteer shift time or sign someone else up.
