About the application

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with ArtsFest! Volunteers are essential to the success of our award-winning art festival, and we simply could not do it without you! Your support, time, talents, and energy are greatly appreciated! There are plenty of volunteer roles to fit all interests, and you are welcome to bring a group or volunteer solo. Best of all, as a volunteer you get to attend the festival before and after your shift for free! Your volunteer efforts help us support the arts and nonprofit community in Stuart/Martin County - it's a win/win! We depend on your commitment to participate. Your presence and prompt arrival for your scheduled shifts are necessary. It is very important to remember that if your schedule changes, or if you have an emergency, please contact us immediately. WHAT DO Guest Relations VOLUNTEERS DO AT ARTSFEST? • ArtsFest Greeter: The Gate Keepers of the event! Volunteers here will greet festival attendees, collect admissions and tickets, hand out event information, and monitor exiting patrons as they walk through our gates. Members of this team must be friendly, helpful, enjoy interacting with others, and be able to answer questions about the Festival. • Volunteer / Information Tent: Help get our volunteers signed in for their shifts and ready for a great experience; and help keep our volunteers hydrated and happy so they can continue helping to run the festival. Members of this team must be enthusiastic, flexible, enjoy interacting with others, and be able to answer questions about the Festival. • Court House Cultural Center Gallery Docent: Greet visitors to the current exhibit at the Court House Cultural Center and give general information about ArtsFest and the Arts Council of Martin County. Current exhibit will be Clyde Butcher: America’s Everglades. • COVID Ambassadors (Compliance Officer): Remind guests of social distance recommendations, the event mask policy, and hand out masks if needed. • Rover: Can't decide where to volunteer? We will place you where we need help the most. VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION | Wednesday, February 17, 5:30pm Court House Cultural Center, 80 SE Ocean Blvd, Stuart, FL 34994. This meeting is to get everyone acquainted with their job duties, the ArtsFest Staff & Committee, pick up volunteer t-shirts, and to give you the inside scoop on what is going on for the weekend. WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF VOLUNTEERING? • A sense of community. Have fun and make new friends! • Promote and support the arts in Martin County! • Free admission to the festival before or after your shift. • A free volunteer t-shirt and volunteer hospitality. • Love and admiration from our staff, artists, and patrons! VOLUNTEER PRIORITIES FUN is why we volunteer! Smiling is contagious. Safety is always the first priority; this is why we ask that no alcoholic beverages be consumed while volunteering. Patience is always a must. While volunteering, please remember to treat everyone, guests, vendors, and other volunteers, with courtesy. If problems occur, please contact the Volunteer Director or an ArtsFest Steering Committee Member. We are there to assist you and can be identified by our name badges. During the festival, Steering Committee Members will be checking volunteer locations to make sure everything is running smoothly. Please let them know of any concerns you may have. We want to make your volunteer experience fun and safe, so let us know what we can do to help. WHAT TO WEAR Wear your volunteer t-shirt. Dress comfortably for outdoors and listen to the weather. Bring rain gear if rain is predicted — we still need you. Don’t forget your sunscreen! Comfortable shoes are a must, our festival site is busy, and you will probably be on your feet. DO YOU HAVE A GROUP INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING? If you are volunteering with a group, please contact our Volunteer Director for additional information on how to register your group. QUESTIONS? CONCERNS? Contact our Volunteer Director! This goes for both before the festival and during. If you need help with anything or have questions, we are here for you! We are committed to providing you the best experience possible, and we love feedback. Mary Ann at (772) 323-3364 or mloomish@aol.com
