About the event

Since its origins in 1982, the UVSA Tết Festival (Hội Tết Sinh Viên) is recognized as the nation’s largest Vietnamese Lunar New Year Festival. Formerly located at the OC Fair & Event Center, we have returned home to Garden Grove this year for the first time since 2013. With over 200 staff members and over 500 day-of volunteers, the UVSA Tết Festival brings together an international audience across a three day weekend to showcase Vietnamese culture, food, and entertainment. Over the past 42 years, the UVSA Tết Festival has significantly improved in many areas over time, such as better displays of Vietnamese culture and traditions, and increased collaborations with local community organizations. UVSA’s vision of hosting the Tết Festival is to create an avenue for everyone to have a better understanding of Vietnamese culture in many ways: vibrant arrays of traditional food, traditional performance and entertainment, and cultural exhibitions.

About the application

Thank you for your interest in being a General Volunteer for the 43rd Annual UVSA Tết Festival. This application is for day-of volunteers and is NOT for the cultural village (Làng Việt Nam). if you are looking to volunteer for LVN, the application will be sent out at a later time. Please ensure that you meet the minimum requirements prior to applying: 1. Must be at least enrolled in a high school or college (ages 14+) 2. Must provide school or government-issued ID 3. Must have completed waiver forms at check-in (HAND SIGNATURES ONLY, WE DO NOT ACCEPT TYPED SIGNATURES, you will be turned down if it is typed.) Please attach your waiver to the application in the appropriate section. Example volunteer tasks include: - Welcoming guests and handing out program booklets - Scanning guest tickets - Assisting with Contests, Entertainment, and Vendors - Provide support for festival operations - Setting up decorations and photo areas - Taking photos for guests in photo op areas - Participating in the children's corner - And more! * General Volunteers Orientation will be held IN PERSON on JAN 18 AND 19 @ 1 pm at the UVSA Office (12831 Western Ave, Garden Grove, CA 92841) * If you have any further questions, please email tet.volunteers@uvsa.org
