Thank you for volunteering at Palm Springs Pride! Your support is essential to our success and we are thrilled that you will join our team. In order to participate, please read the following waiver and release form you acknowledge your agreement by signing up and accepting shift assignments.
General Release and Waiver of Liabilities:
I understand that my participation and involvement in Palm Springs Pride activities carry with it certain inherent risks that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid such risks. These risks include, but are not limited to, personal injury, property damage, and other loss that may result from my volunteer activities.
In consideration of the opportunity afforded to me to volunteer for Palm Springs Pride, I hereby agree as follows:
1. Assumption of Risk: I understand and acknowledge the physical and other risks involved in the activities related to the event which may be caused by my own actions, or inactions, those of others participating in the event, or the conditions in which the event takes place. I am voluntarily participating in these activities with knowledge of the risks involved and hereby agree to accept and assume any and all risks of injury, death, or property damage.
2. Release and Discharge: I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Greater Palm Springs Pride, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, affiliates, and assigns (hereinafter referred to as “Releasees”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever directly or indirectly arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death, that may be sustained by me or to any property belonging to me while participating in such activity, while in, on or upon the premises where the event is being conducted, or in transportation to and from said premises.
3. Medical Treatment: I consent to receive medical treatment that may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness during this event. I understand that this release extends to any liability connected with the medical treatment provided in the event of an emergency.
4. Photographic Release: I understand that during Palm Springs Pride events, I may be photographed or videotaped. I agree to allow my photo, video, or likeness to be used for any legitimate purposes by the event holders, producers, sponsors, organizers, and media.
5. Compliance with Event Rules and Directions: I agree to comply with the instructions, rules, and policies of Palm Springs Pride and understand that my volunteer status may be terminated for failure to comply with these rules and policies or for actions or conduct that Palm Springs Pride, at its sole discretion, deems detrimental to its interests.
6. Acknowledgment of Understanding: I have read this waiver of liability and release agreement and fully understand its terms, and I understand that I am giving up substantial rights, including my right to sue. I acknowledge that I am signing the agreement freely and voluntarily, and intend by my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
