About the event

It's an ANIMATION CELEBRATION at GalaxyCon Presents ANIMATE! Join us for 3 days of anime, animation, cosplay, and more! We feature entertainment, Q&As, video and tabletop gaming, panels, costume contests, cosplay wrestling, and so much more fandom for you to explore. Admission to Animate! Des Moines also grants admission to Nightmare Weekend Des Moines September 27-29, 2024 at the Iowa Events Center! We look forward to seeing you September 27 - 29, 2024 at the Iowa Events Center

About the application

Volunteer Benefits: • Free admission to the convention on the day that you work • Free admission every day of the convention if you work for 10 hours or more • An exclusive GalaxyCon Legion of Super Fans t-shirt • An exclusive volunteer badge/button • 10% discount on GalaxyCon merchandise • A private volunteer breakroom • Free pizza and bottled water while you are on your breaks Application Instructions: • You may select UP TO 3 departments that you would be interested in volunteering for. You will be placed into a department, or departments, based on need and availability. • You may be reassigned to a different department if necessary. • Select only the days and timeframes that you are available. • You may select multiple shifts and consecutive shifts. • We depend on volunteers and we schedule coverage based on your commitment. Please do not apply to volunteer if you do not plan on showing up. • We understand that some circumstances are out of your control. If you are unable to show up for a scheduled shift, please try to let us know as soon as possible. This will not reflect negatively on future volunteer opportunities. • Please upload a clear picture of your face to your application, so that we may identify you at check-in.
