While we work hard to be considerate of personal preferences and provide the best match for a work assignment, there are often specific spots we need filled and needs that come up unexpectedly. We appreciate your flexibility and willingness to jump in and assist!
Regardless of role, you’ll get pre-festival orientation. While onsite, you’ll have a manager overseeing your specific role who is there to help you have a great experience. You’ll also be supported by our Volunteer Team and can keep in touch with them at volunteer@pridefest.com.
Please be confident in your intent to volunteer. There’s nothing worse than waiting for a much needed volunteer to check-in and never hearing from them.
We have established policies and procedures, along with a code of conduct. For everyone’s benefit we ask you to please familiarize yourself with and adhere to them.
Be respectful and kind to one another. We are all here to support our community and make sure everyone feels welcomed and supported.
You do NOT need to be LGBTQ+ to volunteer – just be open, respectful, and committed!
There are volunteer opportunities for those under 18 years of age, but you will need to have parental consent in order to participate. Write us at volunteer@pridefest.com for more information.
Volunteering is a great way to learn more about the organizations and resources in the community, including your host - Milwaukee Pride, Inc.
During the festival, many on the team are running on very little sleep over the weekend. We always look out for each other, but always stress the importance of self-care. Get your rest, stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and don’t be afraid to ask for a break to keep yourself up and running.
The festival is YOUR event, too! Make sure to have all the fun you can, just please take your volunteer commitment seriously first.
Don’t forget what a difference you’re making. We couldn’t do this without you!
