September 15th - Community Volunteers

The Lawrenceville Arts Commission (LAC) is creating a collaborative community mural on a high-visibility wall at a key gateway to the historic Downtown Lawrenceville square. Community members are invited to paint alongside muralist, Teresa Abboud to leave their mark in Lawrenceville. The mural aims to enhance Downtown Lawrenceville's appeal as an art destination, welcome visitors to the area, boost downtown businesses and involve the community in creating public art. The community will be invited to paint alongside muralist, Teresa Abboud on the following days: - Sunday, September 10th, 11 am - 2 pm - September 15th, 3 pm - 6 pm.

The Lawrenceville Arts Commission plans to ensure the safety of all participants who register, with the following conditions set in place. By fostering a culture of safety, the goal is to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone involved in the community mural project. - Participants must be 13 years or older, with a parent/guardian present. - Wear appropriate protective gear when handling art materials. Closed-toe shoes are recommended to protect feet, and an apron will be given to each participant. - Use tools and equipment (brushes, rollers, etc.) properly and safely. - Stay hydrated and take regular breaks, especially in warm weather, to prevent dehydration and fatigue. - Avoid engaging in horseplay or any activities that could distract from the task at hand and jeopardize safety. Due to this being an outdoor event, the Lawrenceville Arts Commission will monitor the weather and reach out if there are any delays with the dates included.
