The North Carolina Fossil Festival celebrates the Aurora Fossil Museum and the rich fossil record of North Carolina. Join us for a family-friendly event steeped in tradition and good old-fashioned southern charm. Activities include digging for fossils, fossil displays, fossil auction, educational displays by partner nonprofit organizations, movie night, parade, live entertainment, food & craft vendors, dinosaur shows, glow party, and much, much more!

Ssshhh! It's time for the Silent Auction and its time to we need your help! The Silent Auction Crew will help with the following: -- Set up, monitor, and provide information about the auction items -- Provide directions on how the silent auction works -- Assist with silent auction sign-up -- Assist with post-auction processing and clean-up Volunteer Perks: 4+ hours: A 2024 NC Fossil Festival Crew shirt! 6+ hours: Receive lunch on us and a 2024 NC Fossil Festival Crew shirt! 12+ hours: Receive lunch on us, a 2024 NC Fossil Festival Crew shirt, and a 2024 NC Fossil Festival shirt! 20+ hours: Receive all of the above, PLUS A 2024 NC FOSSIL FESTIVAL CHALLENGE COIN! Each volunteer slot is on a first-come, first-serve basis so sign up ASAP! To sign-up, please see below.

Terms & Conditions

Please read all the information below before beginning your application. As a volunteer, you are responsible for understanding all terms and conditions. By submitting your application, you agree to all North Carolina Fossil Festival Terms and Conditions. -- Applying does not guarantee acceptance to help during the festival. -- Only applications submitted through this webpage will be accepted. -- Applications are due by 6 pm EST on May 01, 2024. -- Volunteers will be notified via email of the decision. -- Following the approval email, the approved volunteers will receive information regarding volunteer introduction training date and check-in locations. By submitting this application, I agree to hold the Aurora Fossil Museum Foundation, Inc., the Town of Aurora, and the North Carolina Fossil Festival harmless for any injury or loss to any person, equipment, property, or goods for any cause whatsoever. I also agree that the stated organizations cannot be held responsible for any claims for damage, injury, or loss arising from or in connection with using the space or grounds during the North Carolina Fossil Festival. Volunteers not adhering to the terms and conditions will be asked to leave festival area and will not be allowed to participate in future Fossil Festivals.
