2023 Twin Cities Pride Festival is a CELEBRATION of the LGBTQ+ Community and ALL LGBTQ+ people and allies are welcome! As always, Twin Cities Pride Festival is ADMISSION FREE!

About the application

This application allows you to apply for and/or express interest in volunteering to help activate a large scale art activation during the 2023 Twin Cities Pride Festival. Volunteering could include being a team lead - coordinating the activation and team or being a team member both before the event helping plan, fabricate and setup as well as during the event interacting with festival attendees encouraging participation, answering questions, and restocking supplies. Activations Include the following: - Candy Chang community art activation "Before I Die" a global art project that invites people to reflect on death and share their personal aspirations in public. - I Am... opportunties for our community to self identify in a way that feels authentic to them. - Pow wow / Ingenious dance and interpretation near the OKCIYAPI sculpture by Angela Two Stars - Art Projects onsite or take home kits. These activation will take place in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden Conservatory. Some fabrication and light construction / tool handy skills would be helpful but not necessary.

I affirm and support the mission of Twin Cities Pride and the history of and purpose for holding a pride festival: Twin Cities Pride seeks to empower every LGBTQ+ person to live as their true self and to create a future where all LGBTQ+ people are valued and celebrated for who they are. The Pride celebration commemorates and continues the fight against discrimination and the struggle for equality, for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer persons and their families. Violations of Twin Cities Pride rules and regulations may result in being exclusion from participation, both during the event and in following years.

message Team leads will be coordinating planning meetings to work on logistics and include volunteers to plan and start fabrication of the activation. Meetings times will vary depending on the schedules for the volunteers to accomplish the work needed to prepare for the activation.
