About the application

Thanks for your interest in volunteering at the 2022 Food That Rocks festival in Sandy Springs. Below are some details about the festival and volunteering with us. ***Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to participate OR be enrolled in an approved high school culinary program that has been selected to partner with the festival. Check out the information and if you have any questions, please contact us at wendy@tasteofatlanta.com. Once you have submitted your completed application, you can expect to hear from us within 5 business days of submission. Thank you! The seventh edition of Sandy Springs' lauded "Food that Rocks" event is set to return to City Springs with three sessions over two days on August 19 & 20, 2022. A celebration of the community's bustling dining scene, this year's event features live entertainment, live chef demos, tasty bites from Sandy Springs chefs & restaurants, cocktails and more, all benefiting local charities Community Assistance Center, Giving Kitchen and Second Helpings Atlanta, bringing together both community and entertainment for a cause. **Volunteers for this event will receive an event apron. Volunteers 16 and up, please. Those 21+ will also receive a ticket for the event, allowing you to enjoy bites from Sandy Springs' best chefs during a shift when you aren't volunteering.** Minors will need to have a parent/guardian sign a waiver. Volunteers are the key to making this event a success. We are seeking qualified and enthusiastic volunteers to serve and help us bring this great community event to back to Sandy Springs for the seventh year. Our VIP tasting events are an excellent opportunity to meet people from your community as well as from surrounding areas. Each volunteer should be able to commit to a four-hour shift. As a volunteer, you will receive the following: • One (1) Ticket to attend a session other than the one you are working (for volunteers 21 and older) • Branded volunteer apron • Thank you letter • Lots of water Shifts & Assignments: While we do ask for your preferred area, exact duties will be assigned once you check in for your shift. You will be assigned based on festival needs at that time. You will not receive an assignment before arriving, just a confirmation for the shift time you selected (if available). Food That Rocks is an outdoor food festival – please be aware that there will be lots of standing and in some cases walking around the festival for most of the assignments, some areas may require lifting/moving of festival supplies. Lots of smiling and a helpful attitude a must! :-) Volunteer Assignments will include: · Event Setup · Floaters · Ticketing/Check in · Chef’s Assistants · General Event Support Volunteer Shifts Volunteers are needed on Friday, August 19 between 6PM to 10:00 PM and on Saturday, August 20 from 11AM-3PM and again from 6PM to 10PM. Please select which shifts you are available to work (you may select multiple shifts, you will be placed where there is availability) During your shift, you may be asked to change assignments and/or locations. We ask that you remain flexible and patient! Please note that even if you sign up with a friend, you may be needed in different areas and may not necessarily "work together" during the event. Now that you know a little more about us, we’d love to know a little more about you. Fill out the Volunteer Application below and hit "Submit"! We will follow up with you in a few days to confirm your participation and assigned shift. Not everyone is guaranteed a position; however, please check back for volunteer positions with our other festivals if we are fully staffed for this one. In the meantime, if you have any questions, send us an email – wendy@tasteofatlanta.com
