Community Puppet Build

Join FusionFest's Parade Puppet Volunteer Brigade! Sign up for as many shifts as you want and help us build three giant puppets that will be in the Opening Spectacle at the two-day festival in November. Facilitators: Tracey Conner & David Goboff Friday, August 19 Tasks: The first day will be doing the base paper mache. Different people can do this at different speeds so time & volunteers is approximated. The goal is to get 2 layers of paper & glue mixture onto all the surfaces so we will start on Saturday with dried forms. Saturday, August 20 Tasks: Final Layer Paper Mache the heads, hands, arms. (up to 10 Volunteers each shift) Final Layer Paper Mache Feathers on costume (2 volunteers) Base Painting Head (3 volunteers) - probably 6 to 8pm shift. Must be dry. Sunday, August 21 Tasks: Finalizing and touching up. Hopefully 98% of paper mache is acceptable and base painted. Detail & shading heads (3 people who know about painting) Attach Hair & Costume (9 volunteers w/ supervision) Assemble (2 volunteers w/ supervision) Testing puppets (6 volunteers)
