Hayride Volunteer- Scarer

Join in on the fun and volunteer as a scarer for the 2026 Haunted Hayride at Fortress Fright Night! The City of Obetz will provide your costume and assign you a character/location on the route to bring the scares to life. If you would like to work with specific friends or family members, be sure to note that on your application. We will do our best to accommodate. Requirements and Schedule: Must be at least 16 years old Volunteers should arrive no later than 6 pm to get checked in, change into their costume, and get ready to head out to their scare location. A wagon will be ready to pick up all scarers at the Fortress at 7:00 pm and shuttle them to their scare positions in the woods. The location of the shift is outdoors along a wooded path. The duration of the shift involves standing and moving. All volunteers should arrive wearing dark clothes suitable for the weather. Black pants/black hoodies or shirts/ jeans/flannels/ hats/gloves/etc. are all suitable as proper attire. In the case that we do not have a character-specific costume, any of these clothes can be worn with a city-provided mask.
