About the event

Come out to downtown Gastonia on Saturday, October 17 from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM! There will be food trucks, a beer garden, live music, vendors, entertainment, a free KidsZone with mechanical rides, inflatables, and carnival games with prizes.*Please bring your own lawn chair and/or blanket to sit and enjoy the music**

About the application

Volunteers may be assisting with vendor load in/load out, contests, carnival games, or inflatables. Volunteers will need to report to the Rotary Pavilion at their shift start time. There will be a volunteer check in table set up behind the pavilion. Volunteers will need to check in and get their volunteer information packet. These packets will also be emailed to all volunteers prior to the event date. Drinks and snacks will be available throughout the shift at the check in table. All volunteers will be assigned in a group of two minimum. At least one person needs to be at the volunteer post throughout the entire event. Please give each other breaks since you are in a group.

Terms & Conditions

Volunteer Waiver and Release of Liability I hereby acknowledge that I am volunteering my services to the City of Gastonia on a voluntary basis. I understand that my participation as a volunteer may involve physical activity, interaction with the public, and various duties that could carry inherent risks, including but not limited to personal injury or property damage. I affirm that I am in good health and physically able to participate in volunteer activities. I agree to comply with all instructions and safety guidelines provided by the City of Gastonia or its representatives. I knowingly assume all risks associated with my volunteer activities. I waive, release, and hold harmless the City of Gastonia, its elected officials, employees, agents, and assigns from any and all claims, liabilities, or causes of action that may arise from my participation, including claims for personal injury, illness, property damage, or wrongful death, whether caused by negligence or otherwise. I further agree to indemnify the City of Gastonia against any and all claims of any kind that may be brought against the City by third parties for property damage or personal injury that arise due to my own negligent or intentional acts while engaging in volunteer activities. I understand that I am not an employee of the City of Gastonia and am not entitled to compensation, benefits, or insurance coverage for my volunteer services. I grant permission for the City of Gastonia to use photographs or videos taken of me during my volunteer activities for promotional, educational, or informational purposes, without compensation. By signing below, I certify that I have read and understood this waiver and release, and I voluntarily agree to its terms. If I am under the age of 18, I certify that a parent or legal guardian is present while I complete this volunteer application and has read through and agreed to this waiver and release of liability form.
