About the event

The Prater's Mill Country Fair, begun in 1971, is held on the Prater's Mill Historic Site which includes a 1855 grist mill and a 1895 general store. It is a wildly popular, two day event with artisans, food vendors and musicians, attracting several thousand visitors each year.

About the application

Thank You for Your Interest in Volunteering! The Prater's Mill Country Fair is one of Georgia's premier heritage festivals, bringing together artisans, musicians, demonstrators, and thousands of visitors for a weekend celebrating Appalachian culture and history. Volunteers are essential to the success of the event and may assist with admissions, parking, vendor support, children's activities, hospitality, setup, cleanup, and general event operations. No prior experience is required, and training will be provided as needed.

Volunteer Agreement By submitting this application, I understand and agree that: • I am volunteering my time without compensation. • I will follow all instructions and event policies provided by Prater's Mill Foundation staff and the Volunteer Coordinator. • I will conduct myself in a respectful and professional manner. • I understand that volunteer duties may require standing, walking, lifting and working outdoors. • I will notify the Volunteer Coordinator in a timely manner if I am unable to fulfill my scheduled shift. • I grant permission for photographs and video taken during the event that may include my image to be used for promotional purposes by Prater's Mill Foundation. • I voluntarily assume any risks associated with participating as a volunteer and release Prater's Mill Foundation, Inc., its officers, directors, volunteers, and sponsors from liability to the fullest extent permitted by law.
