About the event

Get up close and walk through a C130 military plane. Enjoy the sites of historic planes on display, War birds, military planes, vehicles, helicopters and a vintage car show. Rides will be available in various planes and helicopters for an additional purchase. There is something for everyone at BowmanFest like local food trucks, a bar featuring Green River Bourbon, Bouncy Houses for the little ones... family fun for all! BEFORE WE GET STARTED, GET READY FOR TAKE OFF WITH THE IPA 5K ON THE RUNWAY! ​IPA 5K on the Runway kicks off the event and ends under the wing of a C130 Military Plane. The IPA (Independent Pilots Association) benefits the Reach for Kids a 501c3. Your sign up includes a medal, t-shirt and drink ticket, plus admission to BowmanFest.

This isn't just any volunteer opportunity — it's your backstage pass to aviation history! Help support incredible organizations like Bluegrass Honor Flight, 502 Flight Club, IPA Reach for Kids, and more, all while being part of one of Kentucky’s most thrilling events. ✨ Here’s what’s waiting for you: ✈️ Up-close views of awe-inspiring aircraft from the 1920s to today Classic cars that’ll make you do a double take Military and aviation exhibits full of stories to explore Unique memorabilia and unforgettable photo ops Perks for our fantastic volunteers include: Two FREE General Admission tickets (valid for any day!) A tasty meal to keep you going A commemorative volunteer T-shirt to wear with pride Quick Heads-Up: All volunteers will need to read and sign a Volunteer Liability Waiver. You can either bring a printed copy to check-in or fill it out when you arrive. We recommend arriving 15–20 minutes before your shift so you can check in and jump right into the action. Terms & Conditions

Event Dates: Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4, 2026 Location: Bowman Field, Louisville, KY By signing up as a volunteer for BOWMANFEST 2026, you agree to the following terms and conditions: 1. Volunteer Commitment Volunteers must arrive 15–20 minutes prior to their assigned shift to allow time for check-in and orientation. Volunteers are expected to complete their assigned duties in a responsible, respectful, and professional manner. 2. Liability Waiver All volunteers are required to read and sign a Volunteer Liability Waiver before participating in any event-related activities. The waiver must be submitted with application or completed onsite prior to the beginning of the shift. 3. Age Requirement All positions will have minimum age requirements due to safety or access restrictions. 4. Dress Code Volunteers should dress appropriately for an outdoor event and wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing. A commemorative volunteer T-shirt will be provided and should be worn during your shift. 5. Volunteer Benefits Each volunteer will receive: Two General Admission tickets (valid for either day of the event) One complimentary meal One official BOWMANFEST 2026 Volunteer T-shirt These benefits are offered as a token of appreciation and are non-transferable. 6. Conduct & Behavior Volunteers must treat all guests, staff, and fellow volunteers with courtesy and respect. Any inappropriate behavior, including harassment or misconduct, may result in dismissal from your volunteer role and removal from the event premises. 7. Event Changes & Cancellations The Bowman Field Foundation reserves the right to adjust volunteer roles, schedules, or event activities in response to weather, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances. 8. Photography & Media Release By volunteering, you grant permission for the Bowman Field Foundation to use photographs or video taken during the event, which may include your likeness, for promotional or marketing purposes. 9. Safety Protocols Volunteers must follow all safety guidelines and instructions provided by event staff. In case of emergency, volunteers should immediately alert an event coordinator or staff member.
