About the application

Barknic is Wise Animal Rescue’s indoor, dog-friendly event taking place on Saturday, August 8 at Lackawanna Station in Montclair. We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help create a safe, welcoming, and fun experience for our community, adoptable dogs, and vendors. There are lots of opportunities to get involved, from event planning and outreach to day-of support. Whether you prefer behind-the-scenes work or interacting with attendees, there’s a role for everyone.Flexible time commitments are available. You can help in the lead-up to the event, the day of, or both. No prior experience required. Just bring a positive attitude and a love for animals.

Terms & Conditions

By submitting this application, I acknowledge and agree to the following: I understand that volunteering at Barknic involves interacting with dogs, attendees, and vendors in a busy indoor environment. I understand that volunteers will receive complimentary admission to Barknic for the duration of their scheduled shift. I agree to follow all instructions from Wise Animal Rescue staff and trainers to ensure the safety of dogs, attendees, and fellow volunteers. I understand that I may be assigned to different responsibilities based on event needs. I agree to arrive on time for my scheduled shift and notify the team if I am unable to attend. I understand that dogs at the event may have varying temperaments, and I will follow all safety guidelines when handling or assisting with them. I acknowledge the inherent risks associated with working around animals and event environments and voluntarily assume all such risks. I agree not to bring my own pets unless explicitly approved by Wise Animal Rescue. I understand that photos and videos may be taken at the event and may be used for Wise Animal Rescue promotional purposes. I acknowledge that Wise Animal Rescue is not responsible for personal items brought to the event. I agree to conduct myself in a respectful, professional, and positive manner while representing Wise Animal Rescue. I understand that failure to follow guidelines or unsafe behavior may result in removal from the event. I agree to the Hold Harmless and Liability Waiver associated with participation in this event. I agree to maintain confidentiality of any sensitive information related to Wise Animal Rescue, its operations, adopters, or event participants.
