About the event

LagoonFest 2026 is the 13th annual free, family-friendly celebration of the Lake Worth Lagoon, taking place on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. along Flagler Drive in downtown West Palm Beach. This waterfront event highlights the beauty and importance of our 20-mile-long urban estuary, bringing the community together for a day of learning and fun. Families can explore interactive exhibits, enjoy up-close wildlife encounters, and discover ways to help protect this unique ecosystem. The popular Kids Zone offers hands-on activities, games, and giveaways, along with lively mascot appearances and photo opportunities along Exhibitor Row. LagoonFest is the perfect day to learn, play, and celebrate the Lake Worth Lagoon in the heart of The Palm Beaches.

About the application

- MASCOT Volunteers report and check-in at the Volunteer Check-in tent with the Volunteer Coordinator and get “Mascot Parade” instructions. - You have access to the Mascot Tent dressing area for changing. You can also use this area to take breaks and rehydrate away from the public. - MASCOTS (while interacting with guest) please do not hug or touch guest. - HANDLERS to assist in dressing mascot, escorting/guiding mascot through the LagoonFest Event Site and engage mascots with the public and photo ops. - HANDLERS & MASCOTS - Be mindful of the temperature and take as many breaks as needed. Stay hydrated. - ENGAGE Event Goers! - The MASCOT and HANDLER may be required to walk and stand for an hour at a time and may occasionally be required to work outside in various climates and environments. - While preforming the duties as stated above, the MASCOT is frequently required to listen, use hands, walk, move and dance.

Terms & Conditions

TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR ALL VOLUNTEERS: • ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST CHECK IN AT THE VOLUNTEER CHECK IN BOOTH LOCATED AT THE SW CORNER OF POST PARK, LOCATED ON FERN ST & S. FLAGLER DR. SIGN IN; PICK UP VOLUNTEER T-SHIRT. • Volunteers should arrive early and take time prior to their shift to walk the event and familiarize themselves with the layout. GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ALL VOLUNTEER STATIONS: • Volunteers are required to work LagoonFest from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. • Breaks will be provided by your coordinator. Volunteers will provide their cell # to the coordinator and have the coordinator's cell #. • Be mindful of temperatures and bring reusable water bottles, your lunch, or money to purchase food at LagoonFest or WPB Green Market right next door to LagoonFest. • Volunteers are frequently required to sit, speak, listen, use hands, handle, or operate devices or tools, and reach with hands and arms. • Volunteers may be required to walk and stand for a few hours at a time. • Volunteers work outside in various climates and environments. Be prepared for the weather and be prepared if it changes! • Works closely with others. IN CASE OF A LIFE-THREATENING EMERGENCY: • Please call 911 • For general FIRST AID, please direct to one of our North or South INFORMATION BOOTHS OR VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN; the First Aid Kit will have limited items. • IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING: report any emergencies or suspicious activity to the nearest West Palm Beach Police Officer immediately.
