About the event

We appreciate your interest in volunteering for the Dallas Open. Volunteer registration is currently closed. We are now taking another look at our volunteer needs. Please provide your contact information if a volunteer opportunity becomes available. https://form.jotform.com/220053914331040 ___________________________ The Dallas Open is one of ONLY 10 United States tournaments on the ATP Tour and the ONLY ATP Tour indoor championship in the United States. Volunteers are needed to help on a variety of teams. Tournament Dates are February 6-13, 2022.

About the application

Professional tennis doesn't happen in Texas without Ball People. If you are at least 12 years old and interested in being on the court with the world's top players, please come to the 2022 Dallas Open Ball Person Tryouts on Sunday, December 5 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at SMU Tennis Complex - 5669 N Central Expy, TX, Dallas, Texas 75205. You will need to provide a photo. Your photo must have been: • Taken within the last 6 months to reflect your current appearance. • Taken in front of a plain white or off-white background. • Taken in full-face view directly facing the camera. After you sign up, you will receive an email confirming your registration. Prior to the Tryouts, you will receive a “Need to Know” packet via email. It will include information about checking in and a parking map. Please give yourself plenty of time (at least 20 min) to park prior to the start of Tryouts. The tryout will consist of training, practice, and evaluation. Ball Persons will be selected based on their general fitness and ability to feed the ball seamlessly to Ball Person teammates and players quickly, efficiently, and quietly, without distracting the players or causing a fuss. Please arrive 20 minutes early for registration. Please wear comfortable athletic wear (dress appropriately for the weather conditions), tennis shoes, and bring a water bottle for tryouts. Tryouts can be a difficult time. One of the toughest jobs is the final decision about which participants make the Ball Person team, and those who do not. We strive to make all decisions fairly, without bias, and after extended deliberation and evaluation of each prospective participant. If you are not selected for the 2022 Dallas Open, then you are welcome to tryout again in the future. There will be local 25k tournaments throughout the year that require Ball People to gain experience. • Women’s 25K at TCU June 13, 2022 • Men’s 25K at SMU June 27, 2022 If you have any questions please contact Christina Allen directly.

Children, age 12 can participate in the Dallas Open as a Ball Person. Personal information collected during registration is solely used for Dallas Open communications. The Child Online Privacy and Protection Act (COPPA) regulates the online collection of information from persons under the age of 13 (covered person). Covered persons are required to obtain parental consent before providing personal information via this website. If you are a parent of a COPPA-covered person, you have the option to agree to the collection and use of your COPPA-covered person’s information. You may revoke your consent, review your COPPA-covered person’s personal information, ask to have it deleted, and/or refuse to allow any further collection or use of your COPPA-covered person’s information at any time by contacting Christina Allen.
