Terms & Conditions

TYPES OF VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Barricade Monitors - help ensure the safety and smooth operation of the event by managing street closures and maintaining secure perimeters. They assist with placing barricades before the event begins, then remain stationed at assigned locations to guide pedestrians, prevent unauthorized vehicle access, and allow entry only to approved vendors, staff, or emergency vehicles. Throughout the event, they serve as a visible and approachable point of contact for attendees—answering questions, providing directions, and communicating any issues to staff. This role requires attentiveness, clear communication, and the ability to stand for extended periods while maintaining a friendly but firm approach to enforcing closures. Block Captains - act as on-the-ground coordinators for specific sections of the market, helping vendors and performers with setup, operation, and breakdown. They assist vendors in locating assigned spaces, help manage vehicle traffic during load-in and breakdown, and monitor safety within their area. Throughout the event, they serve as a primary point of contact for their block—answering questions, relaying information, and communicating with staff to resolve issues. This role is ideal for proactive, organized volunteers who are comfortable multitasking, staying mobile, and keeping their area running smoothly. Information Booth Volunteers - are the welcoming face of the market, providing guests with helpful information and creating a positive visitor experience. They greet attendees, answer questions about vendors, entertainment, and event amenities, and share information about downtown businesses and upcoming events. Volunteers may also distribute maps and promotional materials while serving as a central point for general inquiries or concerns. This role is best suited for friendly, outgoing individuals with strong communication skills who can maintain an approachable, professional presence throughout their shift. Runners - serve as the flexible support team for the event, stepping in wherever help is needed to keep operations running smoothly. They provide break coverage for other volunteers, deliver water and supplies, assist with light setup tasks, and respond to real-time needs from staff. Moving throughout the event, they also help identify and communicate any issues that arise. At the end of the event, Runners assist with breakdown and cleanup. This role requires adaptability, strong communication, and a willingness to stay active and take initiative. Set-Up Volunteers - help prepare the event space before it begins, ensuring everything is organized and ready for vendors and guests. They assist with tasks such as setting up tables, chairs, tents, signage, decorations, and supply stations, as well as stocking items like volunteer water. Working as part of a team, they help complete setup efficiently and adjust to changing priorities as needed. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, teamwork, and being part of creating a smooth and welcoming event environment. Please note that all positions are needed to help close down the streets at the beginning of the market and help open them back up at the end. Thank you for helping us create a safe, welcoming, and vibrant Thursday Night Market experience for our community.
