About the event

The Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance is a collaboration between the Shakori Hills Community Arts Center and the GrassRoots Festival Organization, providing a family-friendly celebration of music, dance, art and education. Activities for all ages! Yoga classes, sustainability discussions, food vendors, local beverages, demonstrations, workshops and much more! There are a variety of camp site options on a bucolic 72 acre site in Pittsboro, North Carolina.

About the application

The GrassRoots Festival is a non-profit organization, which raises money for arts, education, and other area non-profits. It is the intent of the organization to create a welcoming, relaxed and open community during the event. It does this by operating almost completely through the effort of over 500 volunteers! As a volunteer, in addition to putting smiles on festival faces, you also receive a 4-Day pass. We also invite volunteers to work four hours on single days if they don't plan to attend for the whole weekend. Children under 18, who want to volunteer, must have their parent/guardian fill out either the 13-15 or the 16-17 year old Parental Consent Form - found in the Volunteer tab on the website. Children 13-15 must volunteer during the same shift as their Parent or Legal Guardian. A 4-Day pass is earned when you work 12 hours during the Festival, or 14 hours prior to/after the Festival. Are you a night owl who wouldn't mind working your volunteer shifts at night? Sign up for just TWO harder-to-fill late night shifts (instead of three) to earn a weekend pass. OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE: Green Team (3pm-7pm) Front/Back Gates (8pm-midnight) Parking (8pm-midnight) Quick Facts: 12 hours of volunteering (three 4-hour shifts during the festival) = 4-day pass 14 hours of volunteering for setup and breakdown (8 hour shift with a 1 hour lunch break *meal included on the days you work*) = 4-day pass Consumption, or being under the influence of drugs or alcohol is prohibited during volunteer shifts. Violation of this policy will result in immediate removal from volunteering for the weekend and render one ineligible to volunteer at future Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festivals or events. Terms & Conditions

I agree to volunteer the required number of hours to earn day passes or a weekend pass to the festival. I understand that the GrassRoots Festival does NOT provide any Accidental or Medical Insurance and that I am financially responsible for all such expenses whatsoever. I give permission to be treated by any medical professionals for medical illness and injuries, and to take emergency measures as deemed appropriate in the event that I cannot give my permission or the designated persons cannot be notified.
