About the event

DFW Fiber Fest is the premier fiber arts festival held annually in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. It features a large vendor market and classes taught by leading regional, national and international fiber arts instructors and encompasses many areas of fiber craft, including knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving, felting, dyeing, and more.

About the application

We love our volunteers—and really rely on you all each year to help make things go smoothly. Remember for each day you volunteer, you will receive: Entry pass into the Market. For each shift worked, you qualify for a chance to win a volunteer door prize! Volunteers for Sunday evening get a special perk! Assignments will be given at shift sign in with the exception of Wednesday, our set up day. Wednesday Volunteers: This is the day to get creative and contribute in a big way. We have two teams: Bag Stuffing Brigade - This group puts all the fun goodies from Vendors and Sponsors into our student bags! Yarn Bombing Crew - Unleash your artistic side! Help transform the Irving Convention Center into a Fiber wonderland by installing our yarn art! On Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, you might be assigned one of the following jobs: Keeping Things Secure - Check wrist bands at the Market to ensure smooth entry. Vendor Support - Lend a hand to our vendors by walking the Market, answering attendee questions, and relieving vendors for small breaks. Financial Whiz - Assist with money handling for merchandise sales and Market pass purchases. Registration Assistant - Help our attendees pick up their student bag and Registration check in. Luggage Locker - Take charge of bag and wheel check, keeping everyone's belongings organized. Boardmember Buddy - Assist DFW Fiber Fest Board members with various tasks. Wrap up crew! Sunday evening volunteers will help with packing up the event. Lending a hand to our vendors by assisting them with breaking down their booths in the Market. Working alongside our board members to dismantle decorations and pack up supplies. Volunteers on this shift will be asked to lift boxes and use a dolly. This shift gets a special perk for next year: Early access to registration next year! Remember...We could not do this without you! Thank you!!

Volunteers in this shift will assist board-members in many tasks including but not limited too: Move in DFW Fiber Fest gear Stuff student bags Help check in vendors. While most of these spots require physical task we will have some spots for volunteers that require sitting jobs.
