About the event

click me This is a festival about all that is unique, artistic, and welcoming in Shepherdstown! Last year's attendance was approximately 8,000 people! Street Fest is one of the best fine arts & craft festivals in the region, along with great live music and kids' activities, it is an event for EVERYONE! Come to Shepherdstown and spend the day with us. We are a friendly town, a fun bunch of people and we encourage you to browse, buy, eat, drink, enjoy the live music and support some great charities. In addition to the artisans and food vendors who will be in town specifically to display their wares and feed our visitors at Street Fest, the wonderful shops along German and Princess Streets will be open for your enjoyment. We would like to thank all of the many volunteers and sponsors who make this, and past festivals, possible. Volunteer Job Description: Festival Production Team for Palm Springs Pride Position Title: Festival Production Volunteer Role Overview Palm Springs Pride is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join the Festival Production Team. Volunteers in this role will support the seamless execution of one of our biggest events of the year, ensuring that all technical and logistical elements run smoothly. Key Responsibilities - Setup and Teardown: Aid in the assembly and disassembly of stages, tents, and other structures. - Technical Support: Assist sound, lighting, and other technical crews with equipment setup and operations. - Site Management: Help monitor and maintain festival grounds, ensuring areas are clean, safe, and visitor-friendly. - Logistics Coordination: Support the distribution and management of festival materials such as programs, signage, and supplies. - Vendor Assistance: Provide help to vendors with their setup, teardown, and operational needs throughout the event. - Emergency Response: Be vigilant and ready to assist with minor first aid or direct attendees to the appropriate medical services. Skills and Qualifications - Communication: Strong ability to follow instructions and communicate clearly with team leaders and fellow volunteers. - Team Player: Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team. - Problem Solving: Quick thinking and adaptable to changing circumstances. - Physical Stamina: Capability to perform physical tasks like lifting and carrying equipment. - Punctuality: Commitment to showing up on time for all assigned shifts. What to Wear/Bring: - Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor conditions - Closed-toe shoes - Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen) - Reusable water bottle Training: A brief orientation session will be provided prior to the event to familiarize volunteers with their roles and responsibilities, as well as festival logistics and safety protocols.
