About the event

Free Play Florida 2021 is a three day celebration of the history, artistry, competition, and creation of electronic gaming of all kinds driven by the enthusiastic gamers of the south east. Over 250 arcades, pinball games, consoles and countless things to learn, play and see! This November 19th thru the 21st, Free Play Florida is being held at the beautiful Caribe Royale Resort conveniently located off 417 at World Center Drive. All of your classic and current pinball and arcade games will be on display in the brand new 33,000 square foot Palms Ballroom, all set to free play! Join the pinball tournament and compete with the best in the state of Florida, sit in on our speaker panels that include industry icons, and visit our valued vendors selling games, memorabilia, and some of the coolest themed art on the planet! “Free Play” is defined as “a setting on a gaming machine that allows it to be played without quarters or tokens.” When you join us at Free Play Florida, your admission includes unlimited “Free Play” gaming on hundreds of machines, including your favorite classic arcade cabinets, some of the most popular pinball machines of the last several decades, many of the hottest new arcade titles, and - of course- access to all of the other amazing entertainment and educational options we’ve put together for you! FPF is a presentation of the Byte Amusement Group, a Florida Non-Profit Organization run by volunteers.

Free Play Florida November 19-21, 2021 Volunteer Application This year Free Play Florida is back and better than ever. Join us as we celebrate the shopping malls and arcades of the 80’s with this year’s fun and funky theme, Back to the Mall! Please read all the content below as it will provide helpful information on how you can volunteer. You may not realize this, but everyone you see from the people selling tickets, to the people who keep the games up and running are volunteer staff graciously donating their time and energy. Volunteering at Free Play Florida requires some commitment of your time, but is a great way to make new friends and enjoy the event with an added sense of camaraderie. In addition, as we are a registered non-profit organization, volunteer hours can be used for community service requirements. It's also just a lot of fun! If you are interested in becoming a Free Play volunteer, please review what volunteering entails. Job Duties: Volunteers assist with various tasks at the event as assigned by the volunteer coordinator. Some of the areas that you may be assigned to work are game tournaments, doorman duties, special guest hospitality, game sanitization or other tasks throughout the weekend. During your shift you may be assigned to a rotation of the different duty areas. Volunteer Requirements: As a volunteer, you are expected to arrive for your shift on time, dressed appropriately (jeans or shorts and t-shirt with sneakers along are the most comfortable), ready for work, and with a good attitude. All volunteers will be required to wear a mask while on shift. We expect volunteers to treat each other, Free Play Florida patrons, and staff in the same manner that they would want to be treated: with respect and courteous attitude at all times. Volunteers should plan on pitching in when needed, working hard, and enjoying what the show has to offer. In exchange for your volunteer assistance, you will be provided with some great incentives depending on how many shifts you decide to work. Prior to the event all volunteers will be provided more detailed information about show layout and job duties. * Volunteers who work 1 shift of 4 hours or more will be provided with a 1 day event pass. * Volunteers who work 2 shifts totaling 8 hours or more will be provided with an exclusive staff shirt to keep, a weekend pass to the event, and a ticket to the After Party. *Volunteers who work 3 or more shifts will be provided with an exclusive staff shirt to keep, a weekend pass to the event, a ticket to the After Party, and some extra swag. Applicants must be 18 years or older. Please keep an eye out for our emails. Our standard method of getting you important information for the show is through email.
