About the event

Live at the Plaza is a free summer concert series that occurs in downtown Tuscaloosa at Government Plaza every Friday in June and July from 6pm to 9pm. The event features local live performances, food trucks, and vendors in the family-friendly atmosphere of Government Plaza.

About the application

The City of Tuscaloosa is excited for the ninth annual Live at the Plaza summer concert series at Government Plaza. Any live performer wishing to showcase their talents at this event should apply using this form.
 
Applications are due by midnight, March 24, 2023.
 
Live at the Plaza is scheduled every Friday evening in June and July from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on the following dates: June 2, June 9, June 16, June 23, June 30, July 7, July 14, July 21, and July 28. Times for performances will depend on the number of performances approved. You will receive more information about performance times in your approval email. 
 
All applications must include a link to a website or online video that demonstrates at least three live songs being performed. If no online channel is available, applicants may submit a jump drive or CD that includes a live recording of at least three songs. This can be mailed to or dropped off at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater Box Office at 2710 Jack Warner Parkway, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401, week days 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
 
 
A selection committee will review all completed applications. Decisions will be made by April 7th and all applicants will be notified.

Terms & Conditions

Selected performers will be required to enter into an agreement with the City of Tuscaloosa, to be completed no later than 30 days prior to the scheduled performance, and provide a current W-9 and invoice to the City at least three weeks prior to performance date. Payment will be in the form of a check and will be delivered to the performer on event day.
 
Cancellation policy: Once an agreement has been executed, the performer will receive a deposit for the engagement. In the event the performer cancels the engagement, performer must return the deposit. In the event the City cancels the engagement, City shall forfeit the deposit. If the engagement is cancelled after the event start time, the City agrees to pay 100 percent of the performer fee.
 
The City will contract with a production company for sound and lighting and details for production will be included in the confirmation email.
