Terms & Conditions

The mission of Motor City Pride is:

Through the festival and other community events, Motor City Pride works toward our vision of a society characterized by a strong commitment to universal human rights as well as safe communities, workplaces, and schools.
Motor City Pride takes our mission seriously. Thus, we only seek involvement from those participants who affirm and support our message: The Pride celebration commemorates and continues the fight against discrimination and the struggle for equality for LGBTQ+ persons and their families.

Because we create a safe and welcoming environment for all individuals, we ask all participants to acknowledge that they individually, and the business/organization they represent, to support our mission and the message above when providing an authorized signature on all contracts and registration forms.

Vendors that do not support our mission will be required to leave and a refund will not be given.

Vendors and Sponsors are prohibited from selling any items that have the MCP logo or name (Motor City Pride).  The logo or name may be on items that are given away.

The following types of vendors are prohibited:
  • Sales of animals are not allowed at the festival. Companies promoting pet adoptions are allowed to promote their services.
  • Cannabis sales or promotions of Cannabis providers. (MCP will have one exclusive cannabis vendor/sponsor)
  • Vendors that have raffles that involve a fee to receive the items.
  • Motor City Pride reserves the right to exclude other items or vendors that do not fulfil the mission of MCP.
Stickers may not be distributed.

Booth locations will be assigned when the application and full pre-payment are received.

MCP will only offer a limited number of vendor booths.

Pricing has been set by booth location. Refer to the festival layout for the price of each location.

Vendors/Exhibitors have the option to exhibit just one or both days of the festival.

Official Exhibit hours are: Saturday, June 10, 2023, 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Exhibitors may begin setting up at 10:00 a.m. and must close by 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, June 11, 2023, 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. Exhibitors may begin setting up at 10:00 a.m. and must close by 7:00 p.m. All materials must be removed by 8:00 p.m.

Detroit Consumers Affairs requires a business license for every booth selling any item or service. This fee is a line item on the application. Any Vendor that has not purchased this license and is caught selling items will be removed from the City of Detroit and no refund will be given by the event producer. Per City of Detroit regulations, booths not paying the city commerce fee are not allowed to sell any goods or services. They can only distribute information free of charge.

All business or other activity must be conducted in designated areas only. No distribution or solicitation of any kind may be done by strolling through the event without written agreement from the event producer.

All space will receive an area that is 10’ wide 10’ deep, with one 6’ Table and 2 chairs without a canopy.

Vendors/Exhibitors may bring their own canopy if it fits into their 10’ x 10’ space. Vendors/Exhibitors bringing a canopy must also bring weights to secure it, as the Plaza can get quite windy.

All tents/canopies must fit within the space that has been reserved and assigned.

Electrical supply is limited and must be approved by the Event Producer. The cost is $200 for 110v connection. No electrical supply will be available without advance request. If approved for electricity, Vendors/Exhibitors must provide their own electrical cords and other equipment necessary for their usage. Generator usage is prohibited except by the Event Producer.

If selling goods, all prices must be visible and legible to event attendees.

All Vendors/Exhibitors must dispose of trash in large dumpsters provided and specified on the event map. Vendors/Exhibitors may not utilize standard event or plaza trash containers.

The Event Producer reserves right to prohibit the sale or display of any item(s) that may be illegal, obscene or pornographic as deemed by producer.

Loud music in the Vendor/Exhibitor Area is prohibited.

Vendors/Exhibitors are responsible for any damages caused by themselves and/or employees/volunteers to other Vendors/Exhibitors and/or to the event.

The Event Producer is not responsible for any lost or stolen items or for any equipment owned, rented, or otherwise possessed by Vendors/Exhibitors.

No vehicles will be allowed in the event area without paying the required $200.00 fee. This option must be reserved in advance. Exhibitors requesting this service cannot have their vehicle on the Plaza during official show hours.

The Event Producer cannot guarantee Vendor/Exhibitor sales or profits.

Vendors/Exhibitors will receive a confirmation notice alerting them that the Event Producer has processed their application.

Organizations possessing a Letter of Determination under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or that register as non-profit corporations with the State of Michigan, may ask for donations if we have a copy of your 501(c)(3) letter. No merchandise can be given in exchange for a donation.

It is the responsibility of all Vendors/Exhibitors to pay the appropriate fees and taxes to government entities. If a Vendor/Exhibitor is forced to close because of lack of necessary permits and/or licenses, the Event Producer will not be held liable and will not refund fees or deposits.

The applicant acknowledges that should the location change for the event, all rules and fees remain in effect at the new location.

No refunds. No exceptions. Fees paid may not be applied to any future event.

Acceptance of application will be considered based upon receipt at the Event Producer’s mailing address. Although an application deadline date is stated, space may sell out before this date. Receipt of an application prior to the deadline does not guarantee that space is available. The Event Producer reserves right to place or relocate vendors according to the event master plan. Therefore, any cancellations by the applicant based upon dissatisfaction with booth placement will subject the applicant to forfeiture of all fees, in accordance with the provisions of the above cancellation policy. Submission of application and payment does not guarantee a vendor space or location.

Any violation of stated terms and conditions may be grounds for immediate revocation of Permit to Occupy. The Event Producer reserves right to retain booth fees. The Event does not require a security deposit for Vendors/Exhibitors, however, any Vendor/Exhibitor who fails to comply with any of the proceeding provisions may not be allowed at future Pride events. In addition, a charge of $100 per incident per occurrence may be assessed for the next Pride event the Vendor/Exhibitor applies for, should the Vendor/Exhibitor wish to return.
