Parade Participant Application

Join us for the 1st Annual Schererville Tree Lighting Holiday Parade on Friday, November 27, 2026!

Businesses, schools, churches, community groups, organizations, families, and other local participants are invited to help us kick off the holiday season and be part of a new Schererville tradition.

The parade will begin at 6:30 PM, with all entries required to be in place by 6:00 PM. The parade will travel from the Schererville Community Center to Schererville Town Hall, where it will conclude at the start of the annual Tree Lighting celebration.

There is no fee to participate.

Participants are encouraged to decorate their floats, vehicles, walking groups, or other entries with festive holiday lights and decorations. All entries must be family-friendly and appropriate for a community holiday event.

Additional information regarding parade line-up, staging, parking, and arrival instructions will be emailed to approved participants prior to the event.

By submitting this application, participants agree to the following:

All entries must be family-friendly and holiday appropriate.
Participants must arrive and be in their assigned parade line-up location by 6:00 PM.
Parade line-up and staging instructions will be provided prior to the event.
Participants must follow all instructions provided by Schererville Parks & Recreation staff, Town personnel, Police, Fire, and event officials.
Vehicles, floats, trailers, and decorations must be safely constructed and operated.
Children participating in the parade must be appropriately supervised.
Participants may not enter or exit a moving vehicle or float while the parade is in progress.
Candy or promotional items may not be thrown directly at spectators or into the roadway.
Participants must maintain a safe distance between parade entries and follow the pace established by parade officials.
Schererville Parks & Recreation reserves the right to deny or remove any entry determined to be unsafe, inappropriate, or disruptive.
Participation is subject to weather and event conditions. Instructions regarding any changes or cancellations will be communicated to participants.
