About the application
Think you have what it takes to create one of Alamo’s best Halloween trunks? Join the All Hallows’ Eve Trunk-or-Treat Competition and transform your vehicle into a spooky, creative, or completely unforgettable Halloween experience!
Participants are encouraged to go all out with decorations, costumes, themes, and plenty of Halloween spirit while providing treats for event attendees.

Terms & Conditions
Trunk-or-Treat Competition – Terms & Conditions
By submitting an application for the City of Alamo All Hallows’ Eve Trunk-or-Treat Competition, participants agree to the following terms and conditions:
Registration & Participation
Candy distributions is required to participate.
Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance or placement. Participants will receive confirmation and additional event instructions prior to the event.
Participants must check in and have their vehicle completely parked and set up by the designated setup deadline provided by event staff.
Participants must remain for the duration of the event unless otherwise directed by City staff.
Vehicle & Display
All participating vehicles must be decorated in a Halloween or fall-themed display.
Displays should be appropriate for a family-friendly community event. The City reserves the right to require the removal or modification of decorations, signage, props, or materials considered unsafe or inappropriate.
Once positioned in the event area, vehicles may not be moved or operated during public event hours unless authorized by event or emergency personnel.
Participants are responsible for securing all decorations, tents, tables, signage, props, and equipment used within their assigned space.
Power & Generators
Electricity will not be provided. Participants requiring power must provide their own power source or generator.
Generators must be in safe working condition and positioned to prevent public access, tripping hazards, burns, or other safety concerns.
Extension cords and electrical equipment must be rated appropriately for their intended use and secured to prevent tripping hazards.
Participants are responsible for bringing all necessary extension cords, lighting, batteries, fuel, and other equipment required for their display.
City/event staff reserve the right to discontinue the use of any generator or electrical equipment determined to present a safety hazard.
Treats & Giveaways
Participants are responsible for providing their own candy or treats for distribution unless otherwise communicated by the City.
Candy and edible treats should be commercially packaged and individually wrapped.
Participants should plan to have enough treats available for the anticipated event attendance.
Promotional materials and giveaways may be distributed from the participant’s assigned area provided they are family-friendly and comply with event guidelines.
Safety
Open flames, fireworks, weapons, hazardous materials, and other dangerous items are prohibited.
Participants must maintain a safe and accessible area around their vehicle and display.
Children participating at a trunk must be supervised by a responsible adult.
Participants must follow all instructions provided by City of Alamo staff, law enforcement, fire personnel, and event officials.
The City reserves the right to remove or prohibit any display, equipment, activity, or behavior determined to pose a safety concern.
Competition & Judging
Entries may compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the following categories:
-Scariest
-Most Creative
-Best Business
Judging decisions are final. Additional judging criteria and judging times may be provided prior to the event.
Setup, Cleanup & Property
Participants are responsible for setup and complete cleanup of their assigned area.
All decorations, trash, equipment, and personal property must be removed following the event.
Participants are responsible for their own vehicles, decorations, equipment, supplies, and personal belongings.
Weather & Event Changes
All Hallows’ Eve is an outdoor event. Participants should prepare accordingly. The City of Alamo reserves the right to modify, postpone, relocate, or cancel activities due to weather, emergencies, safety concerns, or other circumstances beyond the City’s control.
Agreement
By submitting this application, the participant acknowledges that they have reviewed and agree to follow these Terms & Conditions and all additional instructions issued by the City of Alamo for All Hallows’ Eve.
