The Fiendish Horror Book Fest — Author & Vendor Application
Hosted by The Horror Church Bookshop and Queerolina at Longleaf Hotel

The Horror Church Bookshop and Queerolina are excited to invite horror authors, artists, makers, and small businesses to apply to vend at The Fiendish Horror Book Fest on October 24th, 6–9 PM (rain date: November 7th, same time and location). This event is a celebration of dark fiction and local authors who bring it to life. It's a space where people can browse, shop, and connect while supporting the creators behind the stories.

Booth Spaces, Setup & Policies

This event will take place primarily outdoors.

• A 6' table space is available for $60.
  • Vendors are responsible for providing their own table and securing it properly
• A 10' x 10' space is available for $80, allowing room for a standard vendor tent.
  • Vendors are responsible for providing their own tent and securing it properly.
• Table-sharing is encouraged feel free to apply together with another vendor or author. (Separate applications required)
• Vendor setup begins at 5:00 PM.
• All vehicles must be fully moved by 5:45 PM to allow for final event preparations.
• No vehicles will be allowed back into the venue until 9:00 PM.
• Tear-down must be completed and all vendor materials cleared by 11:00 PM at the latest.

Please note:

• Vendor fees are non-refundable.
• A rain/reschedule decision will be made by the Wednesday of event week. If heavy rain is expected, the event will move to the rain date of November 7th at the same time and location. We still encourage attendees and vendors to bring umbrellas, as NC weather can be unpredictable even on a clear forecast.
• This is an outdoor event on an October evening. Battery operated lighting is encouraged.
• There will be a photographer at this event. If you do not want your picture taken, please let us know ahead of time.
• By applying, vendors agree to review and adhere to the Terms & Conditions associated with this event. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance.

What We're Looking For

This is a horror-focused literary and arts market, prioritizing authors, artists, and makers who:

• Create original, handmade, or author/artist-designed work
• Are involved in the writing, design, and/or production of what they sell
• Bring something unique, thoughtfully crafted, or genuinely fiendish to the market
• We strongly encourage applications from:Horror authors (novels, short fiction, poetry, zines, anthologies)
  • Illustrators, painters, printmakers, and mixed media artists working in dark/horror themes
  • Handmade & crafted goods with a horror or macabre sensibility (jewelry, textiles, candles, ceramics, etc.)
  • 3D printed items that you designed yourself (original files or heavily modified designs)
  • Upcycled, custom, or small-batch creations
  • Any other creative work that reflects care, intention, and originality
• The more unique (and fiendish) your work, the better!

Important Values & Expectations

• All vendors, authors, and their work must be respectful of all marginalized communities, not only queer folks.
• Hate speech, harmful imagery, or exclusionary messaging will not be accepted. (Horror themes are welcome — hate is not.)
• Our goal is to create a balanced market, so we may limit duplicates of similar items to help vendors and authors have the best possible sales and avoid oversaturation.
• AI generated "art" or "writing" will not be tolerated or accepted. 

Application Review

• Photos of your work (and/or book covers) are required as part of the application. These help us understand your style, quality, and how your work fits into the overall market.
• Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance, as space is limited and curated.
