About the application

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to 4th Friday! What is the 4th Friday event? On the 4th Friday of every month, March - October, The District features the best of Fayetteville visual and performing arts, live music, and street performers. Folks of all ages get a taste of Downtown Fayetteville's dynamic arts and entertainment district while supporting local independent galleries, bistros, and shops full of unique goods and gifts.

This year, in 2026, we are hosting our first District Fall Festival 4th Friday, featuring the inaugural Book Crawl! As a part of our mission to grow Downtown Fayetteville as a dynamic hub where creativity, culture, and commerce thrive - we are inviting all North Carolina-based authors to join us as vendors, selling your books and related merchandise.

EVENT DETAILS --

Set Up:  Set up begins from 4pm-6pm on the event day. There will be a cone placed at your location with your business name on it. Cool Spring Downtown District Staff or volunteers will be on hand to help you find your space and answer any questions before the event.  Your main point of contact will be Adam Carroll - adam@coolspringfay.org.

BOOTH SPACE: CSDD will provide a 10x10 space for your setup but you must provide your tent, tables, chairs, signage, and decor. Tents can’t exceed10x10 feet. All vendor set-ups must be professional in appearance. No booth space sharing allowed between multiple vendors. Booths may not be moved without permission from the Cool Spring Downtown District staff. Vendors cannot sublet, assign, donate or trade your space.

ASSIGNED LOCATIONS: Cool Spring Downtown District (CSDD) may, from time to time, be required to reassign locations on the day of the event. We ask that you be flexible and patient regarding any on-the-spot logistical changes.

BREAK DOWN: The break down for 4th Friday is from 10pm - 11pm. We ask that you do not break down your vendor space or leave the event before 10pm. Breaking down of booths early is not allowed. (Breaking down early may disqualify you from future events.)

Terms & Conditions

Vendor Application Terms & Conditions:

The Cool Spring Downtown District has the right to refuse entry to any vendor for the 4th Friday event.

Vendor Age Requirements: Children under the age of 18 participating in the 4th Friday should be always supervised by an adult onsite.

Vendor Restrictions: The organizer of the 4th Friday event in Downtown Fayetteville is Cool Spring Downtown District, a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, and not the City of Fayetteville or any other state actor.  We certainly honor and respect all political and religious affiliations, but, as a community non-profit organization dedicated to supporting artistic, cultural, civic, and commercial activity in downtown Fayetteville, we have determined, and it is entirely within our purview to do so, that, in order to remain a place that is welcoming to all, we must remain neutral on political and religious matters.

For us, that means no partisan political or religious groups will be approved to table at our events. This is a policy applied equally to all political and religious groups.  Our purpose for having these booths, like the purpose of the 4th Friday event in general, is to promote downtown Fayetteville’s dynamic arts and entertainment district while supporting local independent galleries, bistros, artisans, shops, and the like.

4th Friday is a secular event designed to foster civic pride and awareness, not to provide an advocacy forum for those who wish to put their message, whether political, religious, ideological, or otherwise, before the public.  These issues, as important as they may be, simply are not consistent with the purpose of 4th Fridays.  For these reasons, our table/booth spaces, which are in high demand, are reserved for vendors from sectors such as the arts, entertainment, food, etc. that align with the nature of the event.

Additional Terms & Conditions:

-       Liability & Damages: Cool Spring Downtown District, its volunteers, the City of Fayetteville, or its representatives, and/or employees are not responsible for any damages arising out of the sales of my products or from my presence during 4th Friday. Vendors agree to sell only those items approved by the Cool Spring Downtown District as noted.

-       Inclement Weather: 4th Friday is a rain-or-shine event. If the event is not canceled by Cool Spring Downtown District, an absence will be counted against you. Every effort will be made by the Cool Spring Downtown District staff to host the 4th Friday event. The Cool Spring Downtown District staff will closely monitor weather conditions before and during events.

-       Public Realm: For applicants who are not selected as vendors, you are welcome to participate in the event as an attendee, with the ability to hand out your literature or promotional materials along the sidewalks downtown or on any other public way (outside of our reserved vendor and performance areas) during the event, and discuss your views with patrons of the 4th Friday event.
