Design submission for the 40th Annual Art Car Parade

    Since 1988, the Orange Show Art Car Parade has transformed the streets of Houston into one of the world's largest celebrations of mobile art and creative self-expression. What began as a small gathering of unconventional artists has grown into an internationally recognized cultural event, drawing more than 300,000 spectators each year and showcasing hundreds of rolling works of art. The parade celebrates the belief that creativity belongs to everyone and has become one of Houston's most beloved and defining cultural traditions.

      To celebrate this milestone anniversary, the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art invites artists of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels to submit designs for the official artwork of the 40th Annual Orange Show Art Car Parade.

      Whether you're creating your very first piece of artwork or have an established artistic career, we encourage you to apply. Individuals, students, families, classrooms, and collaborative teams are all welcome to participate.

Multiple designs may be selected for different applications and each selected artist will receive an artist honorarium of $500. Written credit will be atttributed to the designer where applicable.

The Selected Design

The winning design(s) will become the visual identity of the 40th Annual Orange Show Art Car Parade and may appear on:

• Official posters
• T-shirts and merchandise
• Parade day signage
• Social media graphics
• Digital advertising
• Print materials
• Promotional items
• Website and email campaigns

Design Guidelines

There are no stylistic restrictions on how your artwork is created. We welcome original artwork in any medium, including:

• Drawing
• Painting
• Printmaking
• Collage
• Photography
• Digital illustration
• Mixed media
• Artificial Intelligence (AI)-generated artwork will not be accepted. All submitted work must be the artist's original creation.

Text is not required within the artwork, however, If text is included, it must contain:

'40th Annual Art Car Parade' as well as 'The Orange Show'

Artists may also choose to include additional text such as:

'Houston, Texas'
'Downtown Houston'
or other relevant wording

The Orange Show Center for Visionary Art reserves the right to modify, crop, adapt, combine, or otherwise edit the selected artwork for various print and digital applications. Adjustments may be necessary to accommodate different formats, merchandise, signage, advertising, or promotional materials while preserving the integrity of the original design.

For the highest-quality reproduction, please submit artwork with 300 dpi, and at least 4,000 pixels wide.
