Lake Anne Children Business Fair
About the application
This application is for children who would like to participate as vendors in the Lake Anne Children’s Business Fair, along with their parent or guardian. Young entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to showcase and sell their own products or services to the community on Saturday, August 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lake Anne Plaza in Reston.
After applying, each family will have a phone call or online meeting with the event organizer, Gustavo Mas, owner of MAS Center. Gustavo will learn about the child’s business idea, answer questions, and provide personalized coaching. Participating children will also receive printable business resources and access to a Hero CEO subscription to help them develop their products, pricing, branding, marketing, and sales skills.
All participating children and their guardians will meet on Saturday, July 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Lake Anne Community Center for a two-hour business preparation workshop. At least one parent or guardian must attend this meeting and remain with the child throughout the fair.
A $20 participation fee is required to cover the tent and table provided for each business. Please submit one application per child or business and clearly describe the product or service the child plans to offer.

Lake Anne Children’s Business Fair — Vendor Terms and Conditions
By submitting this application, the participating child and their parent or legal guardian agree to the following:
1. Eligibility and application approval
The fair is intended for children operating their own age-appropriate business. Applications must be completed by or with the permission of a parent or legal guardian. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. MAS Center may approve or decline an application based on available space, safety, product suitability, or duplication of products.
Applicants must provide complete and accurate information about the products or services they intend to offer. Any significant changes must be approved by the organizer before the event.
2. Parent or guardian participation
At least one parent or legal guardian must:
Participate in a phone call or online meeting with Gustavo Mas, owner of MAS Center.
Attend the business preparation workshop with the child.
Remain at the fair and actively supervise the child for the entire event.
Assume responsibility for the child’s conduct, safety, products, sales and booth area.
Children must remain inside their assigned booth area unless accompanied by their parent or guardian.
3. Coaching and preparation resources
Gustavo Mas will provide coaching to help participating children prepare their businesses. Participants will receive printable resources and access to a Hero CEO subscription for use during the preparation process.
These resources are intended to help children work on areas such as their business idea, branding, pricing, marketing, customer service, sales and money management. Participation and effort from both the child and guardian are expected.
4. Mandatory preparation workshop
Participating children and their guardians must attend the two-hour preparation workshop on:
Saturday, July 18, 2026
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Lake Anne Community Center
Families who cannot attend must contact Gustavo Mas in advance to discuss whether alternative arrangements are available.
5. Participation fee and booth equipment
A $20 participation fee is required for each accepted business. The fee covers the tent and table provided for the fair.
Participants must care for all provided equipment and may be responsible for damage caused by misuse or negligence. Booth assignments and additional setup instructions will be provided before the event.
6. Products and services
Products and services must be safe, lawful, family-friendly and appropriate for a children’s community event. Only products or services described and approved in the application may be offered.
The organizer may require the removal of any product, display or activity considered unsafe, inappropriate, misleading or substantially different from the approved application.
7. Food and beverage products
Applicants planning to sell or distribute food or beverages must disclose every item in their application and receive approval before the event.
Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring that all food is prepared, stored, labeled, handled and served safely. Families must comply with any applicable health requirements, allergy-disclosure rules, permits or licenses. Approval of an application does not replace any legally required food permit.
8. Sales and financial responsibility
Each family is responsible for setting prices, collecting payments, providing change, tracking sales and safeguarding money and personal belongings. MAS Center does not guarantee any amount of attendance, sales, revenue or profit.
Parents and guardians are responsible for determining whether any taxes, permits or other requirements apply to their child’s business.
9. Conduct and safety
Participants must behave respectfully toward customers, other vendors, volunteers, venue staff and community members. Harassment, unsafe conduct, disruptive behavior or damage to property may result in removal from the event without reimbursement.
First-aid supplies and an emergency contact will be available. In an emergency, the parent or guardian remains responsible for making decisions concerning the child and obtaining any necessary medical assistance.
10. Event schedule, parking and facilities
The fair will take place on:
Saturday, August 1, 2026

Restroom access will be available at a nearby restaurant. Participants must respect the restaurant’s property, customers and instructions.
11. Weather, postponement or cancellation
Because this is an outdoor event, the fair may be postponed or rescheduled because of rain, thunderstorms, extreme heat, unsafe conditions or other circumstances beyond the organizer’s control.
Families will be notified of a rain date or revised arrangements as soon as reasonably possible. MAS Center is not responsible for personal expenses incurred because of postponement, rescheduling or cancellation.
12. Personal property and assumption of responsibility
Participants are responsible for supervising their children and protecting their products, money, equipment and personal belongings. MAS Center, its owner, volunteers and event partners are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property.
Participation involves the ordinary risks associated with an outdoor public event. Parents and guardians accept responsibility for their child’s participation and agree to follow all safety instructions provided by the organizer or venue.
