About the application
Local Vendors ($100 until 8/15)
This application is for licensed businesses, other than prepared food, physically located within the boundaries of the Capitol Hill Neighborhood Council. Political parties and political candidates are not eligible for this application; please apply as a General Vendor. All prepared food vendors must apply using the Prepared Food application.
The Council's boundaries are shown in the attached photo (see Related Files below) and include all land and property within the following area:
- The southern boundary follows North Temple Street east from 500 West to State Street.
- The eastern boundary proceeds north along State Street to East Capitol Street, including all properties accessible from State Street, then proceeds along East Capitol Street and the rim of City Creek Canyon north and east to the Salt Lake City limits.
- The northern boundary follows the Salt Lake City municipal limits.
- The western boundary follows Interstate 15 (I-15) south from the city limits to North Temple Street.
Other available application options:
- Prepared Food Vendors ($175 until 8/15). This application is for vendors selling prepared food, as defined by the Salt Lake County Health Department. This includes food trucks, trailers, carts, and booths requiring a temporary event food permit. Vendors that exclusively sell prepackaged food should apply as a General Vendor.
- General Vendors ($150 until 8/15). This application is for: arts and crafts, retail sales, prepackaged food, and other commercial vendors; political parties and candidates; and all organizations that are not eligible to apply under a different application.
- 501(c)(3) Nonprofits ($50 until 8/15). This application is for organizations that are tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Only 501(c)(3) organizations are eligible for this application; all other organizations, including those exempt under a different section of the tax code, must apply using one of the other applications.
- Government Agency or Department (Free until 8/15). This application is for representatives of a government agency or department of the city, county, or state. Political parties and political candidates are not eligible for this application; please apply as a General Vendor.
Prices do not include required payment processing fees. Prices for all vendor types increase by $50 on 8/16; apply by 8/15 to secure early-bird prices.
About the event
Terms & Conditions
By submitting an application to participate in Capitol Hill Neighborhood Council’s Marmalade JamFest, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
Application and approval. Applying does not guarantee acceptance. Prepared food applications will be reviewed starting on July 31. All other applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Organizers reserve the right to decline or revoke any application. All decisions are final.
Payment and cancellation. You will not be charged until your application is approved. Cancellations made on or before August 15 are eligible for a full refund; please email events@caphillslc.org to request a cancellation. After August 15, all fees are strictly non-refundable. The festival is held rain or shine. No refunds will be issued due to weather or other uncontrollable circumstances. Festival organizers are not liable for loss, theft, damage, injury, or interruption of applicant’s operations due to weather, accidents, or acts of nature.
Post-approval requirements. Once an application is approved, participation in the festival is conditioned upon applicant’s clearance by relevant government entities and timely completion of post-approval requirements listed below. Accepted applicants who fail to complete these steps will not be assigned space at the event and will not be eligible to participate. Post-approval requirements:
- Provide tax information as required by the Utah State Tax Commission.
- For prepared food vendors, provide pictures/scans of food handlers permit, special event licenses, fire extinguisher inspection tags, and truck/trailer inspections.
- As may be required by our insurance policy, we reserve the right to require a certificate of insurance with Capitol Hill Neighborhood Council as additional insured, to require a supplementary participation agreement, or to impose additional safety, liability, or compliance related requirements.
Festival day. The festival provides the designated physical space only. All spaces are 10x10, except for those designated for food trucks/trailers/carts. Space assignments are made by the festival organizers at their sole discretion. Vendors are responsible for bringing their own canopies, tables, chairs, displays, water, power, etc. and for properly securing canopies to withstand wind. Food vendors must comply with all local and state health department requirements, permits, inspections, and food safety regulations.
Up to date instructions regarding event safety and day of procedures will be provided to approved vendors prior to the event and are subject to change.
