Tent and Booth Appearance Requirements (Effective 2027 Season) Beginning with the 2027 season, all modern popup tents must be fully covered, dressed, or otherwise modified to maintain the immersive appearance of the village. Plain, uncovered popup tents will no longer be permitted. This requirement is intended primarily for modern commercial canopies. Merchants who have already taken steps to decorate, conceal, or otherwise adapt their tents in a manner consistent with the atmosphere of the faire will generally not be required to make additional changes.
Vendors who are not yet ready to invest in a period-style tent may use commercially available popup tent covers, canopy wraps, or similar products to meet this requirement. A covered canopy top and concealed tent legs will typically satisfy the standard, provided the overall appearance is appropriate to the event.
Several companies offer products designed specifically for Renaissance and historical events, including Ren Flair LLC and Covering Up Historically. Vendors are welcome to purchase from these or any other source that meets their needs and budget. If you are uncertain whether your current setup meets these requirements, we encourage you to contact us before the event. Photos may be submitted for review, and our staff will be happy to provide guidance. Our goal is to help vendors achieve an immersive presentation while avoiding unnecessary expense whenever possible.
