Know Other Festival is a four-day, three-night queer wellness and camping experience in Joshua Tree, California, created for LGBTQIA+ women, trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people. We believe in creating spaces where our community can gather, heal, celebrate, and build meaningful connections.

Food is an important part of that experience. We're looking for vendors who are passionate about serving community, creating welcoming experiences, and contributing to the overall care of our attendees throughout the weekend.

 

Vendor Expectations
To apply, all vendors and vendor representatives must be 21 years of age or older.

 

By submitting this application, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are responsible for providing your own booth setup, equipment, supplies, signage, and operational needs.
  • You possess all required food handling permits, catering licenses, health permits, and certifications required to operate legally.
  • You will maintain a clean, safe, and professional vendor space throughout the festival.
  • You will treat attendees, staff, volunteers, artists, and fellow vendors with respect and care.
  • You understand that Know Other Festival is a community-centered event and that vendors are an important part of creating a positive attendee experience.

About the event

Know Other Festival is a four-day, three-night queer wellness and camping experience in Joshua Tree, California, created for LGBTQIA+ women, trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people. Through workshops, movement, music, art, and community connection, attendees are invited to rest, heal, celebrate, and show up authentically. The festival features queer-led programming, live performances, interactive experiences, and opportunities for meaningful connection in a welcoming and affirming environment. Know Other Festival is volunteer-led, self-funded, and rooted in the belief that queer joy, healing, and belonging deserve dedicated space to thrive. More than a festival, it's a community movement.

Terms & Conditions

The Food Vendor Fee for Know Other Festival 2027 is $800.

 

Selected vendors will receive:

  • One (1) 10' x 20' vendor space
  • Three (3) vendor credentials for the festival
  • Additional vendor credentials available at a discounted price
  • One (1) camping space for tent, car, or van camping
  • Two (2) parking passes
  • Access to festival Wi-Fi
  • Early access to festival grounds for setup and load-in
  • Access to a shared dish washing station for cleaning utensils and equipment

Application & Selection Process

  • All vendors and vendor representatives must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance.
  • Applications are reviewed based on menu offerings, operational readiness, community alignment, attendee needs, and overall fit within the festival experience.
  • Know Other Festival reserves the right to decline any application that is not aligned with the festival's mission, values, operational requirements, or attendee experience.
  • Selected vendors will be required to participate in a one-on-one planning meeting with our Team prior to the festival.
  • Payment is due upon contract signature and must be paid in full no later than eight (8) weeks prior to the event.
  • By submitting this application, vendors acknowledge that any logos, business descriptions, photographs, menu images, social media handles, or other promotional materials provided may be used in festival marketing, social media campaigns, promotional graphics, printed materials, website content, press materials, and other event-related communications.

Vendors are responsible for ensuring all submitted materials accurately represent their business. Once promotional materials have been created and published by Know Other Festival, modifications or redesign requests may not be accommodated.

 

Load-In & Setup
All vendors are required to arrive and complete setup during the designated vendor load-in window:

8:00 AM – 7:00 PM PT

Vendors are responsible for unloading, setup, and preparing their space during this timeframe.

 

Vendor Responsibilities
Vendors are responsible for providing their own booth setup and equipment.

Vendors must possess and maintain all required food handling permits, catering licenses, health permits, insurance, and certifications required to legally operate their business.

Vendors are expected to:

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized vending space throughout the event.
Follow all applicable health department regulations and food safety requirements.
Remove all trash, waste, and vendor materials at the end of each festival day and at the conclusion of the event.
Leave their space in the same or better condition than it was found.
Treat attendees, staff, volunteers, artists, facilitators, and fellow vendors with respect and professionalism.
Know Other Festival takes place outdoors in the California high desert where weather conditions can change quickly. Vendors are responsible for ensuring all tents, canopies, displays, cooking equipment, and structures are properly secured at all times.

We strongly encourage vendors to bring adequate weights, sandbags, stakes, and other securing methods appropriate for outdoor events. While sandbags may be available through the venue, vendors remain solely responsible for ensuring their setup is safely secured throughout the festival.

Any damage, injury, disruption, or loss caused by an unsecured vendor setup shall be the responsibility of the vendor.

If excessive cleaning, waste removal, damage remediation, or safety concerns arise due to a vendor's operations or setup, Know Other Festival reserves the right to charge the vendor for associated costs.

 

Products & Services
Vendors may only sell products and menu items approved through the application process. All food, beverages, products, and services offered must comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Vendors are responsible for ensuring that all items sold are safe, legal, and accurately represented.

Prices

10' X 20' Food Vendor Booth (power not included) $800.00 Upon approval and after contract signature your payment method of choice will be charged the food vendor fee. Upon approval and payment, a member of our staff will provide email instructions to process your festival tickets.

Premium Power Package $250.00 Non-refundable Up to 3,000 watts total. Ideal for: Commercial refrigerators Multiple appliances Coffee equipment Larger food operations
