About the application
Gingerbread Competition – 63rd Annual Holiday Show
LeMoyne Arts invites local businesses, organizations, nonprofits, and individual creators (youth & adult) to participate in our first-ever Gingerbread Competition, presented as part of the 63rd Annual Holiday Show.
This festive community exhibition celebrates imagination, craftsmanship, and holiday spirit through the art of gingerbread construction. Participants are encouraged to design and build creative edible structures that reflect their unique style, ranging from whimsical scenes and architectural marvels to playful seasonal storytelling.
Entries will be displayed in the gallery throughout the Holiday Show, offering visitors an opportunity to enjoy and celebrate the creativity of our community while experiencing one of the season’s most beloved traditions in a new way.
This competition is open to all skill levels and is designed to bring together participants of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you are a student group, a professional design team, a nonprofit organization, or an individual maker, this is your chance to share your creativity with the public in a fun and festive format.

Gingerbread Competition Terms & Conditions
63rd Annual Holiday Show – LeMoyne Arts
By submitting an application to participate in the Gingerbread Competition, participants agree to the following terms and conditions:
- Eligibility
The competition is open to individuals (youth & adult), nonprofit organizations, businesses, and community groups. Participants must enter under the appropriate category selected during the application process. - Entry Requirements
All entries must be constructed from edible materials such as gingerbread, icing, candy, fondant, cookies, or similar food-based materials. Internal supports may be used when necessary for stability, but must not be visible from the exterior.
-Commercially pre-assembled gingerbread kits may be used, but judging will be based on creativity, originality, & craftsmanship.
Size & Display Requirements
-Entries may not exceed 24” wide x 24” deep x 36” high
-Entries must be structurally stable and capable of being safely transported and displayed.
-LeMoyne Arts reserves the right to refuse installation of entries deemed unstable, unsafe, inappropriate, or inconsistent with exhibition guidelines. - Application & Deadlines

-Approved Entries must be delivered during the designated drop-off window.
November 9-10 between 11 am and 6 pm.
Late submissions may not be accepted.
Judging
Entries will be evaluated by a selected panel of judges based on creativity, originality, craftsmanship, overall presentation, and technical execution.

Prize Structure
Youth Category: 1st Place-Gift Basket with Family Membership included, ribbon awards for 2nd & 3rd place
-Participants aged 17 and under. Adult assistance permitted for safety and structural support, but the majority of design and decoration should be completed by youth participants.Adult Category: 1st place-$250 value gift basket, ribbon awards for 2nd & 3rd place
-Individual or team participants ages 18+ who are not competing as a business or nonprofitBusiness Category: $500 donation made to the winner's designated nonprofit organization
-For-profit businesses, organizations, or workplace teams. Ribbon awards for 2nd & 3rd place.Nonprofit Category: $500 First Place with ribbon awards for 2nd & 3rd place
-Registered 501(c)(3) organizations competing on behalf of their organization
Public Display & Photography
Participants understand that submitted works will be publicly displayed during the Holiday Show and may be photographed or recorded for promotional, educational, archival, and marketing purposes by LeMoyne Arts.
By participating, entrants grant LeMoyne Arts permission to use photographs of submitted works and participant names in print, digital, and social media promotions without additional compensation.
Liability
While LeMoyne Arts will take reasonable care in handling and displaying entries, participants assume all risks associated with transportation, installation, and exhibition of their work.
LeMoyne Arts is not responsible for damage caused by deterioration, environmental conditions, accidental breakage, pests, or unforeseen circumstances.
Pickup
All entries must be picked up during the designated pickup period, December 24 11am-2pm,January 4-6 , from 11 am - 6 pm, following the conclusion of the exhibition. Entries left beyond the stated pickup deadline may be discarded due to the perishable nature of the materials.
Submission of an application constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance of all competition rules and conditions.
