Trick or Treat Candy Stop Form
About the registration
Join us as a Candy Stop during our annual Trick-Or-Treat on the Square!
For a $55 event fee, businesses, non-profits, and groups of all kinds can apply to put a 10x10 tent / table area together as a candy giveaway station.
Fees are waived for Main Street Members & Brick and Mortar business on the square.
All tent areas should be themed for the holiday. Please be mindful that this is a kids’ event and promotional items should be kid-friendly.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS, RULES, AND PAYMENT OPTIONS
Candy Stop Requirements:
- A maximum of 10x10 tent space will be available. You must provide all of your own equipment, ie tent, table, chairs, etc. Anything outside of this should be arranged with the Special Events Manager.
- Your stop must be decorated in Halloween, Fall, Autumn, or some other costume- themed style.
- You should supply candy to give away to an estimated 2,000 kids. We estimated 4,000 in attendance last year!
- You are not allowed to hang signs of any kind around the area during the event; all business information must be within your tent space, and removed following the event.
- You are not allowed to sell food or merchandise at your candy stop. (This is referencing tents set up in the public square, not referencing downtown storefronts).
- While you are allowed to have information about your business available at your table, please refrain from giving out flyers to children that would only be relevant to their parents.
- Your set up should be family friendly. Main Street Gainesville reserves the right to close down any candy stop that they deem inappropriate for children. If you would like specific feedback about your idea, please email mainstreet@gainesvillega.gov
- No smoking in the event area.
Set-Up Times: You may begin setting up at early as 1:30pm, ready to start give-aways at 3pm. You may pull up on the square to drop off and unload items, but then will need to move your vehicle immediately after unloading. Consider having at least one other person to assist. The Historic Square will be closed to traffic during the event.

- Hold Harmless Agreement: I have read all the rules/guidelines and agree to abide by them. I agree to hold harmless Main Street Gainesville or the City of Gainesville thereof, from any claim including but not limited to injury to person, damage to property, loss of fire, theft or any other cause, nor will I/we be party to any lawsuit.
