About the application
This application is for *CHALK ARTISTS only. Applicants who apply through an application that does not match their art/craft category will be asked to reapply in the appropriate category.
*CHALK ARTIST: a professional who creates temporary visual art using chalk on surfaces like sidewalks and streets.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: August 15, 2026
NOTIFICATIONS: Artists will be notified by September 7, 2026. Notifications will be sent via email only. To prevent emails going to spam/junk folders, artists should add express@eventeny.com to their safe list/address book.
CANCELLATIONS & WITHDRAWL FROM THE EVENT: Artists should call or email us as soon as possible if they need to withdraw from the event.

About the event
Terms & Conditions
1. PET POLICY: Artists are not permitted to bring pets to Art in the Park. No pet(s) shall be used as part of an art display.
2. CHECK-IN: Artists must check in and begin their work by Saturday, October 3 at 9:00 a.m.
3. APPROPRIATENESS: Artwork must be appropriate for public viewing and not offensive in nature. Artwork with vulgar or demeaning messages is prohibited.
4. ORIGINALITY: Artwork must be original and created entirely by the registered artist. Artists may not use stencils in the creation of their chalk art.
5. SPACE: Artwork spaces are assigned on a first come first served basis according to registration date. Spaces will be marked prior to arrival, and artwork must be contained within the assigned space.
6. RESPECT: Artists must respect their fellow artists, avoid walking on their chalk art, refrain from having open beverage containers that might spill, and keep their supplies contained within their assigned space.
7. SUPPLIES: Artists must provide their own supplies; i.e., chalk, brushes, whisk brooms, gloves, containers, towels, sponges, buckets, paper towels, and drinking water. Water for artwork will be provided.
8. CHALK: All chalk must be water-based and temporary. No paint, crayon, ink, fixatives, or other permanent products may be applied.
9. NOISE: Artists should not use boom boxes or play loud music or other media. Quiet music from a phone or other small portable source is acceptable but must remain family-friendly and suitable for public listening. BCHF staff reserve the right to ask artists to turn down or turn off their music.
10. APPEARANCE: Artists' appearance and clothing should be suitable for a family-friendly, public gathering.
11. TIPS: Artists are encouraged to come prepared with the following:
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, and/or a hat
- Plenty of drinking water
- Whisk broom, brush, or rags for cleaning your surface
- A piece of heavy fabric, carpet square, or cardboard to sit or stand on to avoid smearing chalk art
- A soft towel, gardner's pad, or knee pads to kneel on.
