SQUAREcrows Contest Entry

Entry Requirements and Display Information: 

Display Spaces:

1. The 2026 SQUAREcrows contest application limited to 61 spots.
2. Your exhibit space will be notated by a bale of hay with a laminated contestant sign attached that shares the description you have provided, above, about your display. We will send out a location map once all entries are received so you will easily be able to find your location. 
3. Electricity is not provided. 
4. Keep in mind this is a public area, so do not use anything in your display that you would want returned to you in perfect condition. You will need to check in on your display from time to time, as they can easily move or be damaged by weather. Consider ways to stabilize your display.

Set-up:

•  Set up begins Friday, October 9 at noon through Thursday, October 15 at noon.
• As notated above, all that will be provided for you is one bale of hay and a laminated(11x17)  contestant sign. You are welcome to bring more hay, or anything else you want to use for your display.
  If you prefer to take your own photo of your display to use in the facebook contest, please email it to Karen Diaz, Special Events Manager, at mainstreet@gainesvillega.gov BEFORE October 15 at noon.

Breakdown:

• ALL display items you bring out to the square must be removed after Halloween, no later than Sunday, November 1.
• The hay bales provided can be left, or any non-painted or altered hay bales you bring may also be left. They will be given back to a local farm.
• Anything left downtown will be discarded, so please arrange for your items to be picked up. If you do not remove your display and leave it for our team to clean up, you will be asked not to participate again.

Contest Rules:

Pictures will be taken in the afternoon on October 15 and posted on Facebook. The photo with the most likes on Halloween wins! The winning prize will be a $150 gift certificate to a downtown business of choice.
